Divine logs, Shining Cloths, Venemous Claws, Behemoth Hides, tons of them, all listed in his bazaar for 3-5m under the going rate at the AH.

People get so mad about gilsellers/gilbuyers and then the next minute they are tempted to sell gil...wow.

Don't be stupid. If you're going to sell gil, sell it to other players at slightly less than IGE rates. Don't give it away to IGE.

By the way, IGE's end of year blowout sale was nothing more then a banner. Yes prices dropped a little but they were dropping at a semi constant rate throughout the year. All those banner's do is make people think "oh a sale" and go buy... IGE is always advertising a sale or prices slashed. They aren't going to make banners that say... Gil prices are UP!!! so buy as we will lower them in a month.

Honestly, the blowout sale was an excuse for the crazy prices that everyone just accepted. Personally my view, which I expressed before is that there are a ton of us just hoarding our money right now... all that gil from the "super sale" didn't just dissapear again either. There was a panic, people panicked more and said "OMG prices are going up too fast, I better buy it before it's 100 mil for an earth crystal". I made a lot of gil off that panic as I am sure a few people did... I haven't redistributed that gil yet. There is no doubt in my mind that upon the onset of that panic people in turn bought gil... but I don't think the sale started it. I think there is just more gil in the system then people thought and it took an occasion like Christmas to make it obvious. This is my opinion... there is no proof either way really, but I can tell you there was no real super sale except for IGE making new banners.

Personally I have nothing against gil selling, I dislike gilsellers for their methods and I pretty much dislike anything that monopolizes... but it's built into FFXI's system. Honestly if HNM's popped more often and on a somewhat random factor the game would be a happier place... I think my favorite part of HNM has always been the chase... when a mob was up unclaimed and you and 3 other linkshells had to race to get there first... that never happens anymore though.

I also have nothing against gilbuyers, although it's not for me... at least not until I can afford to throw my money away like that. I do monitor prices on a regular basis though, it's been a personal study of mine. I knew IGE would be buying it up again, but if those of you want to sell... do it now. Now that there is money to be had the gilsellers will come back in full force until they kill it again dissapear for a bit and repeat.

Man, that would be sweet if they got their mules banned again after buying a few billion gil. That would sure suck some money out of the economy. Until it's duped back in again 10 minutes later. Oh well.
