so what happened if little timmy who only had one arm, with 3 fingers on that arm couldnt farm his own money easily. so he has daddy rmt him 3M to help him pay for his equips. is that so bad?
something to think about

If little timmy is THAT handicapable he's probably a shitty player anyway.. so RMTing so that little timmy can keep playing would just make thing oh so much betterOriginally Posted by rahvin

If you are physically incapable of farming, chances are physically incapable of partying as well. Hitting macros while farming is just as hard as hitting macros in a party.Originally Posted by rahvin
Okay, this is awesome. To the people who are like "omgz! it is not enough", shut up. I swear, if you can't enjoy some getting better than just get out now, because SE can't do anything to sastify you. The fact is, no one else has ever done this RMT before. EQ pussied out and other games don't need to deal with it so they don't. But SE has started to cost IGE profit. They are now buying gil more than they were selling it. That is just fucking great. 300 billion out of the system makes a me a happy taru. Complain about inventory color changes and such, but this is just kick ass.

Gilsellers: http://www.youfail.org/
OK so my 80million gear worth will be like 30million after a month? ;_;
This is good and bad news
The good : wont have to farm forever to freaking buy new expansion gear
The bad : your equip value will go down very soon =/
Look, I'm all for the fact that they banned some accounts. But do you really think that a year from now, the situation won't be the same, or worse? On the other hand, I don't understand the thinking behind players that think just because SE did this, that means that should whine, cry, and emo even louder about gil sellers than usual.
There are many problems with the game; at least they bothered to address some of the issues behind the recent economic instability.
Sure it would be nice if Superman flew into the Lex Corp building and took Lex Luthor to the police, but at least he stopped Brainiac before he could steal the nuclear waste from the power plant.
It's not like the resources aren't there. They ban around this amount of accounts every year around the same exact time, which proves that they are capable of finding rmt accounts when they want to.
But instead they do this once a year, seemingly planned at this same time of the year. What has changed? In what way is the FFXI RMT situation any better then it was the first time they banned accounts?
What they did is good, sure, but not nearly good enough and not even close to being on time.
EDIT: Oh and Vin Diesel would have caught both. WWVD?

sounds like a good opportunity to make some good money. Sell all your gear now, level a subjob for a week or so. come back, buy all your gear at a discount price.Originally Posted by Seph

The man is SE, the baby is you.
Whatever SE feeds you, you eat it right up.
"ZOMG SE IS DOING SOMETHING U R ALL HATERS IF YOU FLAME SE GO QUIT FFXI FAGS"
Sorry man, I'm not a little baby who'se going to get spoonfed shit like you and rejoice.
They did the very same thing last year "OMG SE BANNED 800 GILSELLERS YAY SE GJ SE". Yet they failed to follow up, which led to the christmas inflation.
I'll take this 300 billion gil removal but wait to see what develops. I'm still on my guard against gilsellers, you should be too.
Osode for 70m in Rolan atm :xOriginally Posted by sirhansirhan
It's a good opportunity to make money if your smart and lucky... but taking that much money out of the system that fast, prices dropping is going to be a certainty and farming is going to be a bitch again... all those who bought gil because it was cheap are going to be farming again hardcore.
I'm probably going to start selling my stuff, I'm going to asess what is a good sale and not though, I still wouldn't toss your very rare stuff right away as one of two things can happen.
Players all sell their stuff and undercut eachother until prices get very low and stay there because the people who made all thay money just hold on to it because they are waiting for a stable economy again at the point it stabilizes it will be almost impossible to spend it.
or
Players sell cheap, others buy cheap thinking their getting a deal prices drop way down and then boom... suddenly rare items start going for a lot again. Suddenly half the population has 2 mil which is a lot, but a haubergeon sells for 8 mil anyways because certain people CAN afford it still and we have a lot of gimps running around because 8 mil is way too much to make and only the very very rich who hoarded their money get that stuff. It probably wont be haubergeons but all the HNM items you can bet won't go down. I'm usuing low numbers as an exaggeration but things like striders, speed belt etc. if you thought they were hard to get now... just wait.
or of course we can dream situation 3.
Prices drop, everyone's bank account magically drops and nothing changes from how it is now. Haubergeon costs 4 mil because 4 mil now = 16 mil a month ago and only 2% of the games population has more than 16 mil... I refuse to believe it though, and I plan to remain in that 2%.
I mean there was nothing seriously wrong with the economy. Prices were high but if you weighed every item against all the others and gave it a price ranking... nothing really changed. Some went up, some went down... market fluctuated and everything was doing what it was supposed to do.
This WILL screw up the economy and give all those people who were complaining for something very legitimate to complain about.
