In WoW, BG is just another guild doing things that were accomplished by others 2+ years ago. In FFXI, BG was/is competitive with the best of the best, drawing endgame players from many different servers to the site. They'll never accomplish that in WoW. BG is probably the most well known FFXI NA linkshell in the game while in WoW they aren't even a blip on the radar.

Now there's nothing wrong with that, especially if they enjoy the game. However, when they constantly jump over here to the FFXI forums trying to justify their loss of e-penis power it just get's annoying, hence the need for this thread.

Only slightly off...Blizzard has tweeked some specific bosses (mainly in Zul'Gurub - specifically Hakkar) to make it what their intention was for the fight to go.

Recently Hakkar had just been beefed up, BIG TIME. You could seriously sit on your ass and do *nothing* pre-patch because he was so easy. This time...wow <_< If you don't kill him in under 10 minutes he hits you from anywhere of 6000 to 20,000+? >_>

Not asking you to care, or be in awe of anything, I'm just saying that not everything is exactly the same is was. Granted a LOT is (MC, BWL), but the Ahn'Qiraj area is completely new, along with other stuff. So you can't really say BG is doing the same things over and over as the others, simply because we're progressing into an era of unseen magnitudes that no one game-wide (save test servers) really know about.

At any rate, go ahead, say it, I know you want to since it's the cool thing to do.

Even if that were his reasoning for wanting to come back he made a very sound point, that the people posting on the FFXI boards and playing FFXI really don't give a shit how great you think WoW is and how some people find it necessary to shove it down our throats.

I dont see anywhere that i said WoW was great. I hate this thread and all the others like it. I just think Xavier isnt as cool as he is in Vanadiel, and people will always agree with the guy on "their team". So all these threads are pointless for that reason, they are destined to be flame wars and arguments, nothing useful is going to come out of them, it seems there is alot more to the threads lately than just wether or not one game is better than another also, but any point made by one side of this internet struggle is automatically going to be downed by the people who have already made their minds up on said topic previously. All these forums come down to is person A seeing if they can own person B, and vice versa, its pretty high school, but even the best of us cant help but jump in and play along after awhile. Its like, a huge nerd gang war, and they are fighting over the same turf, and for some reason cannot be peacable.

Yeah MDN interesting how you disliking me = everyone in PO. I still remember the first time you applied to PO and got turned down, would you believe i voted yes on your app? You went to Valor, and came to PO later, and why did you do that? You made a move to the more succesful ls, just like all the other gravy train era members. Noone in PO now is really old school other than kearns and samanosuke in my opinion.

And to Xavier, I was the first PO to start playing wow on azshara, and Bert was lvl 24 at the time, that means you were approximately the same lvl. I also remember you complaining about healing, and i said "good thing you lvled priest" in guild. That may give you some insight into who i was when you played, but obviously, you are way too fucking awesome to know of anyone who didnt own a ridill in a past mmo life. Saying who are you to me to belittle me just adds to the rock star mystique the citizens of Bahamut have given you by massaging your epenis everyday in the forums, down to your gay avatar.

And to enkidu who says BG wow isnt a blip on the radar, but BG ffxi is some great icon of mmo culture.

1. Look at all the top hnm ls sites, and see what is on their front page. Most likely the same old shit, b/c its the same old shit content, or its some bogus bullshit tossed up there just to have a new update, rather than something about limbus from 3 months ago.

2. The number of people playing FFXI compared to the number of people playing WoW tells me that more people give a shit about what guilds in WoW are doing simply b/c more people are playing the game.

We are starting late, but moving at a solid pace, by the time we catch up there will be new content to move thru, and i can guarantee we will be at the head of the line when the expansion comes out. Rome wasnt built in a day.
