Some things change, like half of the people who used to be in BG qualify as gilsellers now. So I'm no longer innocent, I can't take the high road that rmt is bad anymore, I'll get over it. But yeah, seeing as how you duped half a billion gil, nothing you say really means much.
that's why i never criticize anyone, but you on the other hand...
will never criticize anyone for rmting again? Don't follow the logic. Maybe if I made that post today it'd be similar.Originally Posted by Hellboy

Well i got told that Hellboy used to dupe as well as another member who is still in BG. Too bad these accounts weren't closed but would hv been still interesting how they duped 1 year ago.Originally Posted by Xavier

I've been duping distilled water for about 2 years now. I try to stick with the small shit so no one notices how much of a bad ass I am when I put up 7 stacks on AH at once.Originally Posted by bercus

edit: this thread is going to go the distance now
I almost put into my post that "and im a nice guy and hold no grudge so i just stay out of the way and ignore" but i took it out. I'm trying to say I dont want any ammends or apologies, just that we dont associateOriginally Posted by Xavier

xav, if some random was to venture into this thread and ask how you have accumulated such an amazing 6-figure wealth, despite playing WoW and FFXI 12 hours a day, what would be your rebuttal? apart from banning them of course :wink:Originally Posted by Hellboy

The factual serious part you should read:
Out of a serious and honest question, were your intentions with creating this thread one to hoping it would honestly stop? Seriously.
The problem is it won't, fuel was added to the fire the instant this thread was made. I'm not bashing you for it, just making commentary and that's all. I can't exactly judge from my view what your opinions were and whatnot while you were in WoW since I didn't know you long enough to do so, therefore I can't make a biased statement there.
If we make a mere constrat/compare list between the two, absolutely no opinions in it whatsoever, let's take it a bit more above the entire mobs/gear/how things spawn.
FFXI has a faster turnaround time [generally] when you repsond with a GM call. This is a fact. However, more than likely, you will not get a justified solution if it is out of the normal of "I'm stuck in a floor," or a technical error. You KNOW this is true because this has happened to the extreme majority of people. You KNOW that if you report something to a GM for a complete and obvious infraction of the TOS, the extreme high odds are they won't do anything.
That doesn't say FFXI - as a game - sucks, that says their staffing, or at least for sake of arguement, some, have very poor work ethics.
WoW GMs have a shitty ass turnaround - this is a fact. Sorry, it takes for fucking ever to get one. However, from what I have experienced, they appear to act accordingly on every bit of information given (ie. report someone for an illegal activity, offensive name, etc., you don't see them strolling around town or whatever for the next 10 weeks straight). That's just from what I've seen since I've never heard stories, or read others conversations with other WoW GMs - therefore I have no other way to judge this, so I'm only stating from experience. I'm not stating their GMs are gods whatsoever, believe it or not, out of the 4 GMs calls I've made, only once have I ever got an actual person because it was an exploitation issue so it needed to be actually explained. The other two were automated responses (either in-game or via mailing system because I was offline), and the last one was just a mail notifying what had been done to my character as per my call (I was stuck as a ghost in a fucking hole out in the middle of a mountain range - in a scenario like that you can't use your Hearthstone {returns you to the Inn, think of it as like Warp -> Homepoint} so I needed my ghost to be returned to the Graveyard).
WoW GMs also have a communication system of replying to you even if you're offline, so your call isn't completely dismissed. I don't know if FFXI has this or not, last I knew they didn't, but don't quote me on it as I know things do change periodically. Basing this on a consumer standpoint, the communication-while-offline is an advantage, that's just a straight outward plus. It's not praising WoW, it's acknowledging they have a system that FFXI doesn't have (to my knowledge at this time) or one they haven't developed yet.
As far on a lore aspect - what is FFXI Lore? I know they vary as per expansion, but what's the actual core of it? No seriously I have no fucking clue, maybe I didn't catch it during a dialogue. I don't know WoW's lore to full, just /cue bertlore.exe and I get my results >_>
On a graphical specific standpoint, yeah, FFXI owns this category - but they also hurt themselves with repetition of various graphics (ie. Delkfutt's, Fei'Yin, etc.). WoW's graphics aren't as fine-tuned, they are cartoony to an extent, but there are [very] few areas that have similar surroundings.
On a technical standpoint - WoW has a lot of UI issues. Occasionally you will have to rename specific folders in the Program > WoW section on your HD to fix it. Why, I don't know, that's just what the GMs say, and I hope to hell Blizzard is working to correct this issue. FFXI does not have UI issues, at least I never was confronted with one anyway.
If you go into detail about the very core mechancis of both games, you will probably end up evening them out, if not really close, on pure factual non-opinionated information.
The opinion part is where people choose which they prefer, and make their statements from there, and why they play said game over one another, and/or why they may stray from said game due to <insert reason here>.
These are just examples and the list goes on and on. I tried to even out these here to hopefully emphasize the point that if you make a list, odds are you might just wind up even in most regards.
The opinionated part you can skip if you like:
I didn't like FFXI, that's it. Without going into stories, I left due to being disatisfied to a high degree with their customer service. I work in retail so I have a naturally high expectation I guess. That's just me, if you left for whatever reason or stay or whichever, I don't give a damn. That's your money you're paying/saving, not mine, who gives a shit. I'm not the first to ever leave something because they didn't like the service, people do this all the fucking time in reality and whatnot.
It's why you choose one brand of toothpaste over another, why you like this comb over that one, and why this chair is more comfortable than the other.
I like WoW for getting a useable drop off said boss every time, it may not be the drop I need or want, but it could be Disenchanted or vendored for a reasonable item/amount at least. I didn't like having to camp Mysticmaker Rapemyassblix 8? times for an Earring without high return. Fact: Goblin Masks don't sell a lot(or didn't at the time, hell if I know now). That's my opinion, if you were lucky to get it on your first time, cool. I didn't get one of the Stormrage Covers (probably best Druid headpiece [pve] in WoW currently) tonight because I wasn't at Onyxia when we killed her, I was working. Tough shit eh? Can't win 'em all, and I have a $38,000 student loan hanging over my head. Money > Stormrage Cover (but seriously wtf@DKP 22, something's wrong if Brien is still ahead of me <_<).
Oh, this being totally irrelevant to the matter at hand, but for you brand-name junkies, generic bleach has the same level of hyper sodium chloride (think that's the name) as Clorox. Ever hear people tell you that you're paying for the brand name? They aren't fucking kidding. I can take a razor blade that has Wal-Mart on it, sell it for $1, if I put Black&Decker on it, that shit's now worth $6. You don't always pay for quality, but sometimes you do.
/rant end
Oh, I will say this though, if you have never, and I mean NEVER, actually played FFXI, and/or WoW, YOU are the people who need to shut the FUCK up before commenting about it.
