Enjoy it while it lasts because one day you won't be having fun and be playing like LockeTroll, aka "In debt to paying off the other players who helped obtain rare item X!"... That's when the game becomes a chore and boring.

FFXI didn't become a chore because of "paying off debts to other players." It became a chore because of my mentality and where I was in life in a mindset changed in a short period of time...and I had a burden to get on with life. That's what made it so hard to leave the game...I had gotten everything I wanted and now everyone else who I still wanted to help camp for, would be without me. I felt bad about that, and sorry if I feel an obligation to do the same thing that 30+ others did for me, call me crazy.

Anyway about the rest of the topic. Basically this is what it boils down to, everyone has a boiling point, which they WILL meet on FFXI. ALL of us will meet this point, and when that point is met, there will be nothing you can do to stay with FFXI. You will hate it, you will loathe the simple task of even logging in, and you will end up sounding like all the FFXI haters you once hated.

Now to the FFXI bashers, until people meet that point, noone will understand you, because it's all perspective. If I have fun in a game, nothing will change the fact that Im having fun, not even you telling me what is horrible about FFXI. The opposite is also true.

Wafik, to be truthful, I enjoy Berticus's opinions on just about every matter he speaks on. There's something about well thought out replies, and the consistant effort to portray yourself in a good fasion that makes me always read Berts and others replies, no matter how long they are. I enjoy when there's a genuine factor to someone's reply, when I know they care about the subject they're talking about, and not just trying to throw an opinion out there because supposedly everyone is entitled to one.

Berticus has a right to say what he does, (maybe not in the quantity in which he says it) because FFXI failed him in the aspects in which he was looking for fun within the game. Maybe it doesnt fail you, with your Dynamis, or doesnt fail someone else when they level low lvl jobs. But it failed BG, it failed them by making the endgame aspects of the game ultimately pointless, with mobs that you can claim dropping nothing, and mobs dropping something you can't claim, Sea failing as an expansion, and ultimately EVERYTHING an endgame LS wanted to do resulted in reinforcing your dislike for this game. Thus, the boiling point was met.

Im not saying he's not allowed (it's his boards after all, they can ban me. I know where I stand), im just saying alot of members on these boards simply dont care that wow is better (to him) and ffxi sucks (to him). They care about the issues of the game they are playing, not how a certain instance/dungeon in WoW yeilds greater items, which they will never see in FFXI. The last thing people want to see on their topics (besides angelkitty) is yet another bash of FFXI from a WoW'er.

I agree with this topic (majorly Xav and Wafik). It's fine to bash a game, but excessive bashing that's completely stupid is so fucking annoying I'm glad I don't have to deal with it in-game.

I've actually been looking forward to playing FFXI, I've been working hard for 3 weeks and haven't played much at all (I'd log on and go AFK to do work). Now it's over I'm ready to play the game I enjoy, not play the game I enjoy and troll people playing other games.

People like Tib who just post nonsense bashing of FFXI (and still have a FFXI sig and avatar lololol) are very annoying. Having FFXI and WoW sections on the same webspace was probably a bad idea.

And Mitzki, no one cares what you think about BGv2, I remember you saying how you wish you didn't migrate and was still in BG, but then you realized it'll never happen so you start to bash BG for lvling NPCs while ignoring what we actually do. Not everyone in BG lvls NPCs, I loathe them completely.

The hypocrisy in this thread is overwhelming. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I recall that the OP bashed FFXI just as hard when he left it for WoW during the massive BG exodus, so now after you've rekindled your love for the game, it's wrong for others to do exactly what you've done before? It's exactly the same with your change in position in RMT. You were pretty vocal against those who participate in the trade, even downright nasty. Now it's ok because you've changed your opinion, but when others point out the double standard, you get hostile and retort with a "you've done xyz so your opinion means jack". I've reached the conclusion that it's not really what you do that matters, it's who you are, because apparently if you are well liked in a forum, guild/LS, etc, everyone can just turn a blind eye to the questionable things you participate in.

lolololol and nobody cares about BGv2. I remember when BG was seen as gods amongst men but now, its nothing more than fags amongst scrubs. I did regret migrating but now its not so bad since my BG buddies quit for WoW. You know I <3 you but you can't deny that its just not the same as when bert etc were around.

As for bert, he paid his dues, he and along with a few others created this place for you and I, he helped us get where we are and speaking as an addicted to hell FFXI player; I don't dislike bert's posts because they keep my mindset an unpretentious one when it comes to FF's quality.

Thats 22, on his mule, selling LS gear to reverse RMT gil. I'm sure he knows its LS property, because he sold his other stuff on his main char.

They're also selling Kirin's Osodes that the LS gave them, and various other things. We had one member log onto the shared LS account today, and find out that his osode had been taken off the character. Currency from the LS fund was missing too.

Its a shame that people are so greedy they're literally screwing over the people who helped them get the gear in the first place, instead of giving it back to the fund so that other people who still play can use.

It also kinda dispels this whole thing;

Unless you add, "and completely disregard anyone still playing and don't care about gear that the LS collectively earned", its pretty inaccurate.

If you can start to explain how its ok to sell Osode's that a group of people, not individuals earned, along w/ things like Dragon Harnesses which were gotten with around 35 people, maybe I can drop the subject. But I'm just glad to know that when the price was right, you're as full of shit as I am.

The point comes down to: we still play the game. We voice our own opinions because we still experience different things in ffxi every day. People who quit ffxi have no fucking business randomly coming in and bashing ffxi. Wafik could not have said it better, we really dont give a fuck what you think about a game you dont play anymore.
