Capture the flag owns. I think this'll be alot more fun since in regular ballista you're forced to /quarry for like an hour to score points, while in this you wont have to unless you want like items.

They need to get their shit sorted. Why do they think this will attract people that don't already play the very poorly attended Ballista?

Ballista has 3 problems that keep it from being popular:
1) FFXI has the worst interface of any MMORPG ever made and it's PAINFUL to use it even when fighting one mob, but fighting PCs where your F8 button doesn't even work, dear lord, it's like beating yourself with a blunt instrument.

2) Low numbers of players breeds even lower number of players. Make this thing cross-server so you can always have 32 or 16 or 8 player matchs (your choice!)

3) Set start times. Get rid of it. It only works for FPS like counterstrike because the cycle times are a couple minutes tops, AND you get to watch. If I have to wait 30 minutes for a match to begin, guess what, I'm going to log and be playing a different game in 10 seconds, not 30 minutes, and I won't log back in. Or I'll bugger off and level a support job or craft or NPC or whatever and not come back for the match.

Just depends on the time its at. Usually, 60 and 75 caps during evening to late night pst is always always packed. Teams can get up to 15v15 or more and its pretty fun (if the teams aren't horribly unbalanced that is). And there's always diorama which (omg no wai) you can usually set up anytime and bring people if you actually...you know....tell people you're going to hold a diorama match.

I dont know in ur server but the ballista matches I attend to usually have 20 people+
