Yeah might want to make a set of macros for ballista if you actually like it. I think ballista sucks ass though lol. They would have to modify FFXI a shitload to make pvp worthwhile.

I wouldn't know. I got out while I still had hope.Originally Posted by Eaglestrike

Isn't F7 the equivelent of F8 for people?
The swap macro thing is annoying but do you seriously use all 10 sets of your macros? Even so you can back them up and swap them in one quick motion through windows that is a hell of a lot faster then doing them through the game... and you dont have to log to do it, I have used it a lot to duplicate and alter my macros for COP/capped bcnm's while not screwing up level 75 macros.
This looks fun to me I'm sorry... regardless of what it is, it's another form of conflict that a lot of people have been waiting ages for. Ballista is fun, it's actually hilarious of those 3000 people you ask maybe 750 will have their license and have actually tried it. The random scheduling and stuff like that makes it as unpopular as it is... people have other plans so only 40 showing up is to be expected. The only thing I hate about ballista is where it really goes to show how brutally overpowered some jobs can be like blm/rdm.

I tried that too, and the EX thing still screwed me up. That was my first tactic and it still took me 20 minutes to break down and fix my macros, removing Rare/Ex stuff. Af2, AF1, Zenith gear, MC Bracelets, etc. Seems to me I'm missing something....Originally Posted by Brennon
Do I use all of my macros? No, but there aren't a whole lot of sets which don't have something. I could make a set of macros for Ballista, but that brings me to a larger question: Why the hell should I have to?
What's the problem with allowing people to swap equipment in Ballista when they can in any other situation? Why isn't that at least an option you can remove in Diorama Ghelsba?
Changing equip breaks target lock, you could spam equip swap macros and "blink" across a zone if you will, being pretty untargettable.Originally Posted by Byrd

In ballista it's still possible to use your macros and not get penalized.
Obviously your non rare/ex go to bazaar, but for example, you have Sorceror's Tonban macro'd in for Thunder IV, and the macro looks something like this :
/equip Main "Jupitor Staff"
/equip legs "Sorcerer's Tonban"
/ma "Thunder IV" <t>
you do
/equip Main "Jupitor Staff"
//equip legs "Sorcerer's Tonban"
/ma "Thunder IV" <t>
putting an extra / infront of your macro, will ignore that, but still go through all the lines in the macro, it's more of a "skip me" function.
Sorta like when you make notes in any programming language.
Any // denotes a comment and will be skipped when executed.
Well, damn. That answers my question, and is a pretty damn good reason. Now maybe I'll have to rethink my entire position and find a new excuse. :wink:Originally Posted by Ella
I found myself just deleting the last quotation mark off the item in my macro. But that's probably an easier way to do it, and easier to find to replace. Thanks.[/quote]Originally Posted by Lordwafik

get a ps2 to pc usb adaptor, costs like 10 dollars or something, then get a dualshock2 if you don't have one already.
brenner is my last name 0.0
Because its going to be laggy-ape shit just like current ballista. Why don't you have a Brenner topic yet?
You get lag in ballista? lol.Originally Posted by RustyMetal

I don't play FFXI anymore, they may have fixed it. But, I don't mean PC/Hardware lag. Rather more then server lag. Cast sleepga and watch people run around for another 4 seconds, THEN get sleeped. Silence someone 50% into their cast but they still get the spell off. WTF is that shit? That was the #1 reason I hated dident play ballista.Originally Posted by Lordwafik

ah im pretty sure that's fixed, I was just 1 on 1'ing a friend now, paral/silence etc all landed fine :D
But Ballista was glitchy when it first came out.

I have a stat of the art computer, and the menu lag sucked ass. 30fps on game, 2fps on menusOriginally Posted by Xavier
It's going to be good to focus on some defense for a change. Though people in Ballista should be defending their mages when they need it, this Brenner looks like it calls for defending whoever has the"flame" or w/e the its supposed to be lol.
