I'm new 2 the MMO RPG world and am wondering how much time you guys actually spend on this game. I don't have much free time but enjoy games such as these. Would you suggest joining this game, and if so any tips for the inexperienced?

First of all if you were inquiring about an MMORPG probably should have posted in either the FFXI or WoW forums. And no...if you dont have alot of time, don't get into FFXI.

Let me see if I can't answer your question. Your new to the MMO world, so let me do my best...

There are 2 types of players the casual gamer and the hardcore gamers.

Casual Players have fun doing little quests for measly rewards for a sense of accomplishment or adventuring. They have friends in their linkshell that they enjoy socializing and hanging out with. They enjoy the smaller things in the game and move at a very slow pace oblivious to the world of end game and its drama. These people can be found at http://www.killingifrit.com and allakhazam mostly.

These gamers play for an avg of maybe 2-4 hrs per day.

Hardcore Gamers are the gamers that you find here on these forums. Everyone here measures their skill by something called an E-penis. They strive for the best in equipment, greatest achievements, and being rich. They do what they do in game and come here to brag about it. Why brag? To lengthen their internet penis aka E-PEEN. Just look in the FFXI part of the forums and click on some of the threads about Kupo 18 man Jorm or various other threads.

These gamers play anywhere from 6-18 hours a day.

So how much time do you have to invest in an MMORPG? Depends on how much you enjoy it. Because if you get hooked, you will no longer be able to control how much time you invest into FFXI, FFXI will begin to control you. This game is a drug and depending on the person, can and will ruin lives. My suggestion would be to listen to Kiro and Run Away. But if you have self control, then join us in this virtual world. It can be fun, exciting, and challenging.

But if you dont have a lot of time, I would strongly suggest WOW. This game can reward effort but most of the time it does not. Its about who knows how to cheat (bot) the best . For example, someone who spends a minimum of 3 hours a day for over a year trying to kill a land king, will have a good of a chance of getting the item they want as someone from a rival linkshell who just joined a couple of months back because their bots are better.

Dont get me wrong, I love this game, it can just be frustrating at times. If you do join, make alot of friends, thats the only way this game will be fun.

I recommend Dragon Quest VIII. It's got over 100 hours of gameplay without the drama, crabs, or monthly fee.
