I only know of one Ridill War on my server (other Ridills that's NA went to a drk and thf I think) but I'll try to exp with them and see how things go. Switching Garuda's to Sirocco will make a good difference in DoT, though.

My last pt had both, the mnk/war had Brutal, both had destroyers, neither had Black Belt. I think Sole Sushi for us all. I won by 2-300dmg/mob.

I played PLD because I loved playing it and it was fun... which is why we play games.

Someone had suggested giving Thieves the two-handed Dagger weapons (can't remember the exact name) from FFIX (only place I know them from). It would be pretty fun if that were so XD I don't expect it to happen though... Is THF the only job that can't use a Two-Handed Weapon? (Discluding Hand-to-hand?)

    I love Thief though^^

Technically Rdm's can't use staves or anything. But are they counted as melee?

The only thing I really want is A+ dagger and 250ish Marksmanship skill. An accuracy bonus or critical hit enhancement would be nice, or an ability that increases crits (like berserk).

But it's nice healing one person instead of 3
I've pulled 6k/hr in a weapon party using all tanking gear on my PLD... Probably not impressive for you burners, but for us PLDs that are used to 4k/hr, it was pretty nice. I'm sure if I brought a better DD set up and gone /NIN it would've been better.
PLD/NIN (decent melee gear), WARx2, NIN BRD RDM.

12k/hr. D.Weapons. 6k/hr PLDs .... lol sorry. PLD/NIN even worked for this one PLD that was tanking in Lufaise Meadows.

If you know how to work it, it's awesome.

When i usually go to speed burn parties, its not the normal WAR WAR WAR WAR BRD RDM etc. I usually exp with pld/nin, nin/war, war/nin, war/nin, rdm or whm, and a bard. I've partied with the same pld on both weapons and in u. range on demons. We've pulled 10k on weapons, and yes even 11k an hour in the range w/o band. He can hold his own with company mainhand and joy offhand. He has good melee gear, hauby, dusk gloves etc. Still havn't gotten to justice yet, but we finally got our first torque drop off fortitude which he got. Like demetrios said, not getting that 2k extra exp an hour is not gonna kill you. I've also done weapons with drgs, thf's, sams etc. Its still exp, so doing it with an odd party really doesn't matter to me.

the thing about burn parties is that they give nearly the same xp with 5 people as they do with 6. I've always treated the 6th spot as a throwaway, and as long as I have 3x war, rdm, brd, I could care less what the 6th spot is. Its a nice way to get someone from lv 72-75 w/o going through the hell of those last few lvls.

and yeah, thf outdmging a mnk or a war means the thf had a lot better gear than the other people, and even then they still look retarded running around the mob to do sneak attack while everyone else just wses at will.

There's nothing wrong with the Homan jobs... ~_~ Just the mindset of the general public. All jobs that are equipped properly and played properly have their own niche in the game and can hold their own in PT's.

Concerning the THF outdamaging WAR's, and MNK's... I can see that being possible if you're that much of a better player than them. There's more to parsing well as a melee than just engaging and hitting your WS macro. I've seen a SAM outparse extremely decked out WAR's in Deco PT's simply because he knows how to parse well... but I can almost guarantee you that if you changed your job to a MNK or WAR and put in the same dedication as you do to your THF, you'd be parsing higher than your own THF.

Also, Homam and Nashira is the counter set to the God gear (Osode/Haidate, etc).
Exp with Kato on his monk, and Malis on his WAR/NIN with his Ridill. Then we will see who is outparsed

This is what we call the Allakhazam mindset.

People don't like these jobs for a reason. If you want to get into 'niches', you could say things like DRK is a stun-whore(and have their 30 seconds of fame if they have a kraken club), THF is a TH-whore, DRG is a cheerleader, and so on.

Would the BG forum mindset be "everyone level WAR, MNK, or a mage job or quit the game?"
