Anyone that thinks the civilized world deserves all this bullshit because of fucking cartoons needs to go set themselves on fire. Seriously, I'm tired of the whole "It's our fault, we just need to be more sensitive" bullshit that I have heard since 9/11.

Radical Islam is not compatible with western civilization, period

I don't want to start a religion war, but this is the kind of shit I can't stand about religion. OBVIOUSLY it's not like this for everyone, but the masses show it can't be handled properly.

I'm Muslim, I Didn't get offended by the cartoons

You have to realize every religion has Extremeists (yes they are in every flock)

When Passion of the Christ was being made the Christian radicals denounced Mel Gibson for trying to make the movie.

(I do understand they didn't strap bombs and run to the Warner Bros. Hollywood Lots and blow up, but the mentality of Muslim Radicals/Extremeists is pure psychotic (at the moment), but all Religion have faced there bad phases and will sooner or later come into there Renisance stage/phase. Don't forget Christianity went thru its bad phase too ie INQUISTION)

I do get a little upset when I see the word of Allah being used by people as a joke, and they have no sense of the meaning of that word.

That doesnt mean I'll go starping bombs and cause harm to people that are denoucing/joking something that I believe in.

I have laughed at other peoples belief, and laughed at some of the jokes that are portrayed in which I believe.

We are now in such a StereoTypical world, its not even funny... we as a world society have become such a hipocracy that we have to label things
just to make it sound plausible/sane. (We as people yearn for it just so we can comprehend what the hell is going on)

    [Days of having your own opinion and it being your stand are way gone, now being replaced by marketed stereotypes/molds that get adjusted a little to class some 1 into a certain category}

It goes on thru every fabric of life albeit race/creed/religion/culture/apperance/beliefs

    So in conclusion;
All I want is people to have an OPEN MIND.

when you compare you're self "the west" and our countries "the middle east or muslim countries" you should know that you're talking about diffrent cultures...

we have our own beliefs, respect to religous figures and you have you're own...if you think things such as this should be taken as a joke that might be in where you come from but not where we come from...

majority of americans fail to see things from the other point of view..the world doesnt revolve around america or you last time i checked..

i condem(sp?) those acts of rage and peaceful protesting is the better act..

this is a short essay i wrote for sociolgy class i hope you understand my point

    ---

A series of recent untactful news cartoon publications, witch disrespectfully portrays the Muslim prophet Muhammad, have cause world wide violence and protesting. In an attempt to be humorous, the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten, publish twelve cartoons each with a unique depiction of the prophet.

The result was disastrous. The blatantly offensive drawings have caused a series of violent protests, and the burnings of Danish embassies in Lebanon and Syria.

Recently, the ministry of Japan has urged all forms of media outlets not to print, or distribute the racist cartoons in anyway. This was done in an effort to prevent any kind of misunderstanding. Reprinting or showing these cartoons may be considered as racist acts against the Muslim religion, and could lead to attacks on Japanese.

However because Japan practices the freedom of expression, the government can not for the media to adhere to its warnings. May media organizations are still polarized over the issue. Some organizations such as Asashi Shimbun have already agreed not to publish the cartoons out of respect for the feelings of Muslims. Others have still yet to announce any kind of action either way. Many religious peace organizations in Japan have shown concern in the matter, and have asked Muslims residing in Japan to act in good taste, and not resort to any means of violence.

As a Muslim living in Japan, my feelings are truly hurt by the Danish newspaper. They are practicing their freedom of speech against other religions and hurting other people’s feelings for no apparent reason. We Arabs have our freedom of speech, but we know our limits and where the red line is, and know not to cross it like how the Danish newspaper did.
“A cartoon Thursday in the al-Quds newspaper showed an artist at work at Jyllands-Posten.

In the first panel, he rejects a grotesque drawing of a black person: "This is racism." He rejects the second, which equated the Cross of David with the swastika: "This is anti-Semitism." He keeps the longer third panel, of the Prophet's cartoons: "This is freedom of speech."”
    http://www.islamicity.com/articles/Arti ... V0602-2902

In my humble opinion, I personally think that the release of these cartoons was a way to provoke the muslims around the world and to ignite another rage in the middle east. The people have the right to protest in a peaceful way, but I condemn any act of violence to express their rage.

I respect any media organization that recognized that those drawings are offending to the Muslims and stopped the reproduction of the offending material.

I give your fucking essay a big red F with a 'burn in hell' right there.

The cartoons did not 'cause' the violence. The people burning danish flags and assaulting random europeans grew up in cultures where it is 'common knowledge' that the West is actively trying to destroy all of Islam, and that Jews murder children and use their blood for food, and etc. etc. etc. The propaganda machine being run by folks in Hezbollah, Hamas, etc. are the ones responsible for causing all the violence, stirring up a frothing, murderous intent in every impressionable, downtrodden teenager growing up without proper access to food, medicine and education, let alone a dissenting view. All this under the guise of 'this is what Allah and the Quran wish of you.'

The cartoon didn't do anything but validate a lifetime of brainwashing. It is not the CAUSE of anything. If someone is raised believing in violence and murder, it's their upbringing that's the cause of violence. not the triggers they are trained like dogs to react with all their lives.

They cause protests sure, but not violent ones.

people lacking education access to food and medication...last time i checked they were called poor people..there is for fucking sure more poverty rate in the U.S. compared to any other arab or muslim country..

I'm a Muslim but I think anyone has their right to excersise free speech. If people want to draw our prophet in cartoons like that there is nothing that can be done to stop them. The violence and outbreak is wrong.

The only thing I have a problem with is the ignorance amongst people around the world, mainly people in the America. The other day a dude came on the radio station I listen to every morning and claimed the following "In the Qu'ran, Allah commands all Muslims to use explosives to kill anyone not of the Islamic faith." I can't believe I heard such nonsense. Explosives didn't even fucking exist at the time that the Qu'ran was revealed.

People always like to go in and pick from the Qu'ran where it says to kill people for whatever reason. I wish I had the exact book numbers on me, but there are also verses in the Bible and I think (not sure) one of the Jewish scriptures.

There is a vast difference between Radical Islam and Islam. Radical Muslims take the Qu'ran and bend it completely out of proportion. I'm a Muslim, I don't hate America, I love it. I'd rather be here than anywhere else in the Middle East. It's safe and I get a good education. However, the majority of the world is ignorant, so to most of them I'm just like any other radical Muslim out there.

Where in my post did I say "you are all for violence"

I recognize that you have been educated. The same can not be said of people who decide it's a good choice to kill themselves with a vest strapped with high explosives and nails. I'm not grouping you with them.

However, I take exception to the notion that the cartoon is to blame for the violence, because that's 100% bullshit, and it's exactly what you wrote:

And that's why your essay fails. Not because you're condoning the violence. But because you are not looking at the real roots of the violence: Utter ignorance, festering in the poorest of Muslim neighborhoods and exploited by warlords in Lebanon and Southeast Asia to further their own bloodthirsty quest for influence and power. These people are to blame for men turning to violence at the slightest provocation. Was it a poor decision to publish the cartoons? Probably. But let's not blame the people who published the cartoons for anything other than the outrage. The CARTOONS did not cause the goddamn VIOLENCE. I don't see any reasonable line of thought that connects the two.

    You still fail.

did you ever see a public outrage on the danish embassy before by muslim people?no ...

is there any recent incident that happened between that danish news paper and the muslim community? yes

therefore i connected "the violence" that is happening to those events...
i didnt mention the iraqi violence...i didnt mention anything else...i stuck to my point...

and for all that talk you mentioned about hamas. i have a very famous quote i hope it would tell you more than enough of what i think of them..

"one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter"

dont even start twisting this up and linking it up to 9/11...that is not my concern

what i see here, you have pieces of jigsaw and rather than connecting them together you're cutting the edges and forcing them together...

cartoon -> -> jews feeding on children -> "real roots of the violence" -> cartoons again and how they're not the cause of the burnings...

once you're done with you're jigsaw im sure the whole picture you try to put together wouldnt make any sense to me

this is meerly an essay, its just a small journal and its my opinion only...
i dont care if you give me an "F" for what i said, but to my self its my own opinion

    im off to bed ...out

I am Canadian, and i think religion for the most part is a waste of time. I am not saying i do not believe in something higher, but live your life right and you will be rewarded.

What i am going to say by no means categorizes all people of the muslim faith. When was the last time you saw a christian or a damn buddah running into a crowded retaurant with a bomb strapped across their back? When was the last time you saw a christian or buddah "group of fanatics" send a video tape to a TV station showing them cutting off a mans head while he was still alive? When was the last time you saw a earopeans, americans, chinese, etc attack a fuckin embassy to kill the people inside?

I am sorry, but by and large the people in the middle east are either the most racist people in the world, or if they are not your your fellow muslims/countrymen do a terrible job of keeping them under control. It just infuriates me to see that people punish the wrong doers by fucking attacking innocents, then saying they were forced to do it. Do you see the irony?

In my experience the people that preach sensitivity are only sensitive to their own needs.

for your info...this is what happens everyday at palastine and this is what you don't see on TV...

I'm sure the american people would protest against such violent acts but they dont see everything...all what they see is "suicide bomber" "terrorist killed 3 soldiers" etc..

but you dont see "army group attacked a civilian village called jinin and killed every human being in that area"

I'm not sure if those zionists are insecure and want to do what happened to them in the "holocaust" against the palastini people to make em feel better..
