I think we've figured something out about the pre-Carby Prime fights. The Elementals don't respawn randomly. Rather, they spawn when the Prime does a Blood Pact that a SMN can't do (i.e. whenever Titan does Geocrush an Elemental spawns, up to 4 in total.)

If you're doing a setup that relies on the elementals not being there to spot-heal the Prime with IVs this might help knowing when you need to switch your focus.

Still waiting for someone to discover/post a pic of the specific weapons dropping from their respective 6 pre-carby 18man avatar fights. Seeing as how there is a treasure pool, they could just be an extremely homosexual 5% drop rate and nobody has gotten lucky yet.

I have to ask this but, if you can re-enter when you lose.. and the weapons drop while you fight... Can't you just lose purposely over and over to get desired weapons..? >_>

Not sure where you got this idea, but the weapons drop after the fight is over.

I thought someone earlier said that they dropped while you fought the prime avatars.

Nope. But what you could do, is if it does allow people to help who have finished the quest, just have one person leave before the end so they don't complete it, then the rest finish and get the drops. Then that person allies up again to enter the BC and the rest of the alliance helps him, he leaves before the end, etc.

So have anyone confirmed the latent condition for the weapons? Or it's being proved that you need the certain summon out to have the latent in effect?

After doing some runs...we noticed a pattern to the elementals.

2 of them are attacker only. They only attack your party.

2 of them are healer/buffer only. They only heal/buff the prime or the other elementals..but will not attack your party (with the exception of the -ga 3 after Astral Flow).

Just a little something you could work into your strategies.

after final BC, if you want to fight again, do you need to do all 6 other fights again first?

if so, after final BC, can you enter to help someone else even if you completed the fight, even if you haven't fought the other avatars again yourself?

do carby cuffs have hidden effect -perpetuation for carby?
does carby pole have hidden effect -perpetuation for carby?

if you do the final BC and don't accept reward, and do it again, is it confirmed that you get cuffs, or still just a rumor?

is the time limit on repeating final BC daily, or weekly, or no time limit?

No one knows, you can't re-accept the quest (yet).

Haven't tried.

Only the pole is offered as a reward, and it has no hidden effects.

There is no way to refuse a reward. Choosing "Not at this time..." just results in a different title and dialogue, but you still get the Faded Ruby key item, and still get the Pole when you talk to Carbuncle (no choice offered to refuse a reward).

If you can repeat it, it'd be weekly, because no one has been able to re-accept the quest yet.

this quest really sucks, unless there's a future reward. it's a HUGE amount of work for a bow that a few jobs want and some marginal other items.

Not quite pwned.. you sorta failed to mention that fact.

But those are some nice drops (compared to only getting 2 drops in my fight, and none in other groups). Did the regen apply to just you, or everyone in the party that had shining ruby on them?
