Let's Examine Dynamis-Tavnazia (Possible spoilers?)

I do agree they should have held it off a bit more (or thought it through a bit more) but I just thought of something: What the hell would Miyamoto do with the MMORPG genre. Now THAT would be an interesting game.

As for the actual topic, knowing what the ??? does really doesn't make Tav any better. For starters, the ??? does not have a set pop spot. I've seen it one place while messing around at the end of a run and then I've checked the next time in the same spot and it wasn't there. It probably works like the SJ ??? in Buburimu and Qufim (Qufim makes me want to vomit, but that's another thread entirely) which means it will take lots of time and lots of wasted money and dynamis runs before it really gets mapped out.

It takes a fair amount of time (15-20min) to get the initial time extended to 1hr and SJs back. It's really not safe to pop everything by fleeing around looking for the ??? (areas like the AH have several linking eyes which are very difficult to have to deal with in an 18-man group) which means you'd need to clear at least a little bit to try and find the ???. This really leaves you with less than an hour to actually do dedicated farming of a zone that everyone can agree has a mediocre drop rate.

There are 3 ???s in the .dats according to the origional post in this thread. One is for the win, the other two are presumably for this time extension. To the people who have found the ???, does it seem more likely that it's a single ??? up in one of two positions (as with subjobs in qufim and buburimu), or that it's popped by killing certain mobs (maybe a specific eye or set of eyes)? If it's the latter, it should be possible to farm to the first one, trigger it, farm to the second one, trigger it, and end up with 2 hours in this zone.

Also, has anyone who's farmed the Nightmare mobs got any -1 bodies yet? Though it's presumed to drop here, I've only ever read of people getting -1 legs.

Is that a joke? While it is uncommon, we've gotton like 11 AFs in one Beacy. Lately we have been getting jewed (lately=last 2 months), but it seems overall better than Xarc which usually only yields a max of 4 drops for us.

Well we generally get more AF in Xarcabard than in Beaucedine...

My linkshell has done almost 200 runs and has seen exactly one Koga Chainmail lol


About the two extra ??? in dat files... it makes sense that it represents two extra time extensions since the ones in Bubu and Qufim are one ??? in dats but then again Nightmare Worm and Antlion are both listed multiple times in Tavnazia dats

I should have mentioned before, our dynamis LS took a day off for holiday yesterday and 14 of us went messing around in Tavnazia. At the end of the run, I trained to the spot where the ??? was found in the above posts, and someone else checked the corresponding spot on the 3rd floor, and neither were up. This suggests to me that it's 'popped' somehow.

Did you talk to the NPC diabolos? Some seem to think it pops after talking to him or after the carded diaboloses de-pop/die. In my case it would of been when they de-pop.

we went in > got subjobs > killed 6 bees, 1 eye, 3 hydra, someone sacced to see if ??? was there, it wasn't. Went for diabolos, popped 3 (^^, killed one and wiped to the others, they despawned, that's when me and another person checked the 2nd and 3rd floor tunnels where the ???s should be again, neither were up.
