Seriously, your turtle fails. There are tons of stupid, old laws on the books- it takes law makers years to catch up to the times. (Hell, it is still legal in most places to video tape people without their consent as long as they are not audio taped.) The problem is that a bunch of rich, straight, white men in power do not feel that a man getting raped by a woman is illegal because the men should like it. so do you think its ok after 17 years of hiding a child from the father that the mother can back charge him with 17 years of child support payments? yes she carried the baby but it really did take 2 to make. besides a little humor, the men had to put up with the emo swings for 9 months lol.

That wasn't the point at all. Actually, your argument helps to back up my feelings on the issue. It's the responsibility of both sides. The man/woman both have equal responsibility (in a perfect world) in conception of the child, and in raising the child. Given these facts, why then would it be unreasonable to argue that both should not have a say in whether or not the child is aborted/born? I just think that the "well, the man doesnt have to carry/give birth to the child" argument is a little weak is all.

When they can transfer a pregnancy to the father and he can go through the pregnancy, then the father can have a say on the abortion issue. Until then, there are too many deadbeat dads out there who shirk their responsibility, not o mention control freaks who would force their abused wives/girlfriends to have the baby just so he could torment her for the rest of her life.

How exactly is the man going to have an equal and/or greater say than the woman? She can sneak away to get the procedure done without telling him, and she can tell the doctor inside the exam room once the man is out of the picture that she is being coerced or doesn't want to go through with it anymore, but the only thing a man can do to get final say is to drug the woman and find a clinic that will actually perform the procedure on someone who shows up unconscious, and that is not likely to get far. By physical necessity the woman has final say. In a perfect world there would be an agreement or compromise though.

On a related note, I heard a story of a man who was refusing to pay child support to his ex-girlfriend, who he'd never actually had full sex with... she was a total nutjob and actually impregnated herself on purpose with his semen after failing to swallow it. I don't know how the case turned out.
