How to Kill Kirin , the basics.

    1. Make a Kiting Party.
Kiting PT set up = 1. WAR/NIN with Ful AFV1
    2. NIN/WAR With Enmity Gear and AFV1 boots.
    3. 2 Capable WHMs.
    4. 1 BRD or RDM to refresh the WHMs.

    Kiting PT job description :
If it is Night time, Have the Ninja start off with a provoke Warcry and start running on the edges of the wall around the room with Kirin on his/her back. Ninja's gain extra movement speed during night time when AFV1 boots are equiped. This decreases the chances of StonagaIV landing. This is and Ninja extra evasion skill is the advantage of using a Ninja Kiter. Wars have more hate grabbing potential, and have higher VIT and HP than Ninjas. However they lack the movement speed advantage during night time. Both Being able to have 6-7 Shadows Up negates Kirins regular swings. However, Kirins has moves that go through shadows should he get to close to you. If the Kiters do their jobs right, (Hold hate, run run run, and keep distance between themselves and Kirin) you should not have any trouble. You can Use a PLD/WAR Kiter if the PLD is good and the WHMs know how to conserve MP. A PLD/WAR will hold hate better than both war and Nin most times. Depends on the setup, as you are not used to kirin, i would go with war or nin.

RDM Don't try to deal any DMG to Kirin. Have the RDM land as many enfeebs as he/she can, But Priority is to keep Refresh Up on the whms.

WHMs, Either set yourselves up along the route the Kiters will be guiding Kirin to land Cure's on them, or run alongside them. Its upto you, both have advantages. If you choose to stand somewhere in the kite route, Make sure together you can Cure the kiters at any point during the Route; Spread yourselves out evenly.

When Kirin Pops, the Kite PT should claim and immedietly begin kiting.
They don't need to be in alliance. We prefered having the Kite PT outside alliance, and let them do their own thing as the following occured.

Kirin will summon the guardians, Genbu, Byakko, Seiryu and Suzaku. and Each of them will give you trouble in their own way.

    Genbu Survives Longer.
    Byakko Kills PLD tanks fast.
Seiryu Will eat through Nin tanks if and when it uses Hundred Fists.
Suzaku prevents the Less skilled from Zerging him, as His chainspell will eradicate the entire alliance unless he is Shadowbound by a rng or chainspelled stuned by a RDM/DRK.

There should be a good number of members in the Summons Alliance.
BLMS, BRDS, NINJAS, PLDS , DD.
The Summons alliance job is to claim the Summons once they pop, and take them down as fast as possible. They sometimes pop withing 15 seconds of each other (happened ; ;, first time we tried kirin).

What we do is have a single PT of RNGs standing by , watching the the Kite PT , waiting for kirin to summon. Once kirin does summon, they Ranged Attack , make sure they have claim on the summon, and call for help. They then Run towards the Summon Alliance that will be at the opposite end of the room in respect to the Kirin room. The Summon Alliance then begins to Nuke/WS/SC/MB/Kill them as fast as possible. Our ninjas tank through seiryus Hundred Fists with NP, they always have 2 march 2 mambos. Suzaku though, can get messy. As their HP is nowhere near their Prime form in Ruan gardens, they tend to Use their 2 hours alot sooner. Chainspell should be shadowbound, and everyone RUN AWAY. wait for it to wear and begin to tear it apart. You can tank or kite genbu. Tanking allows for a faster kill, Kiting allows for more durabilty. Kite Genbu if one of the other Summons are out. Let a nin and mage occupy genbu till the others are down.

Once all the summons are down. Disband one of the PTs in the summon alliance. Preferebly the Melee. Request an Alliance with the Kitin PT. the Kiters should have enough hate now for the blms, Smns to begind to do some dmg. Nether Blast works great on Kirin from what i've seen. The more smns the faster the kill. BLMs will need SC assistance unless they are some uber freaky BLMs. expect a long fight at first. It takes time for everyone to get the feel of things. When we did our first kirin we whiped in 13 minutes, and had to watch another Linkshell claim him and get an Osode, D. Abj bodyx2 and 2 shinning cloths. BURN! next time we fought him, we killed him in 2 hours 13 mins. and had at least 10 members dlvl.
by our 45th Kirin, we were killing him in 27 Minutes.

This was a copy past from our old website , strats section.
Alot of people do other stuff, but this worked best for us and our set ups. and I dont know many people that can beat kirin in 27 minutes with 18 members.

You can kill Kirin before your 30min food wears off if you tank it straight up with alot of melee damage.

Did you guys try hitting the monolith's inside the Shrine? Maybe that weakens him...If not, try the Ve'Lugannon Palace, they got a couple monolith switches in there too.

We've devised a new strategy for Kirin. Tell me if it works.

Everyone gets 300% TP for Sprits Within on Kirin pop. Then, once we pop him, we have our PLD/WAR kite him while our DRG/WHMs heal the PLD. The reason we use DRG/WHMs is because the Allakhazam Dragoon forums said they make great healers.

Once Kirin's at 50%, we'll have a party of RDM/DRKs join the alliance and use Chainspell+Stun. Most will be resisted, but a few are bound to hit. The goal here is to stun Kirin's Astral Flow.

Our main source of damage will be from melee DDs; we've regulated the SMNs to an "Ariel Armor" rotation. BLMs will backup heal and Warp II people when we're done.

We're giving this next Kirin fight everything we've got. We have ~60 people showing up, but we still don't know how to deal with the adds. We heard a rumor that not calling for help on the Gods increases Kirin's drop rate.

Doods, omg we just feegured it out, we li3k use some +attk stuff for monks and have them boost with their o. kote on becuz yanno it gives more attk, and attk > 4 str from lame temple gloves lol. Then when they hit 999 with their attk they will go up and use Asuran Fists and pwninate Kirin back in time with the Mullet Man.
