I went from needing 20 acc to get full tp return a majority of the time to 8 acc getting full tp return a majority of the time with the gorget. It definatly helps, how much i have no idea.Originally Posted by Ninjadik

So you wear it full time?
I use royal guards collar/spike necklace(lazyOriginally Posted by Ninjadik

I've tested soil gorget to be on about on average +20 damage to an unbuffed, 1handed calamity's 230ish damage @ 100tp, which is close to the 10% bonus people say they give, so I think it is pretty accurate.
I can't say it adds the the same damage for multihit, as rampage and vorpal blade are just far too inconsistant, but I notice I do land all of their hits much more often than I did without it. (And I know its not from upgrading gear or merits, as I haven't done either since getting it.)
I'd say they are worth using.
thanks for the info =]
If you're outparsing Ridill wars on your NIN, then there's something wrong with your Ridill WARs. I say this as a NIN with almost perfect haste, STR, and merit setup versus WARs with perfect haste, STR, and merit setups.
So.. is the overall assumption that the critical hit rate only benefits the hand that the katana is on? I still find this hard to believe myself... Anyone have links to a discussion on this?
Theres nothing strange about a ninja outparsing a ridill war. Yes, its hard to do, but its not impossible.
Most Ridill WARs just don't know how to fully exploit Ridill. They use sushi (I now have 92-93% acc using meat), merit double attack, ect. I outparse most other Ridill WARs by 200-300+ average damage per fight.
Balt's and Naikon's gear is insane though, onpar/better then what I've seen from Twolves in that pic thread. Only time I've seen them lose in damage was against MNKs and I.
Goddamn Ridill. I miss when things were easy with full Double Attack Merits. Now with Ridill/Joyeuse being a viable option with things like 8 Combat Skill increases, Fortitude Torque/Supa I quickly changed to Aggressor/Berserk recasts. When you have Aggressor almost 80% of the time, I definately would lean towards meat.Originally Posted by Nny
Edit: Yeah basically whoever has hate the most and is forced to cast Ni/Ichi is probably gonna parse lower. Having to cast Ichi once reduces your damage output on that particular mob by hundreds of damage, so alot of the time its just who gets stuck with hate. Main reason why MNK/WARs outparse NINs and WARs also. Being an MP dump is nice on the parser. :D
There's not many ridill wars on our server that have adaman hauberk also. Only one that was fully merited and full gear i out parsed at the time and the only improvement in gear he coulda had is fortitude torque and speed belt over haste(which might be a improvement, might now i'm not a war -_-). Of the 10 or so NAs wars with ridill about 5 of them have adaman hauberk. Of that 5, 3 have quit/stopped playing and the others just don't merit. The one i did merit with that had max merits and gear for WAR would outparse everyone he partied with other then me. His war was built more for axe/ridill then ridill/joy so that could be a big reason i outparsed him at the time. And of the JP warriors with ridill maybe one of them has adaman hauberk? So our server isn't that great with warriors.
And whoever has to voke and cast ni the most usually always parses lowest in merit partys. I always make sure theres other nins xpin with me when i'm on nin because i hate having to first voke ._.
we use 1 2 3 not-it rule to determine who gets to be voker in our ls partiesOriginally Posted by Twolves
Haste Belts Enchantment is ultimate and owns Speedbelt any day.speed belt over haste(which might be a improvement, might now i'm not a war -_-
Are you sure? The casting time for the haste belt would suck when you're midfight no? Or just use it inbetween fights? /shrug
Haste Belt is pretty annoying, and if you forget to recast or get caught using it mid-fight it can hurt the parser. Beside that though it IS 10% haste, and does stack with normal haste, easily letting a WAR hit the 50% haste cap with songs/haste spell/gear. Truely an amazing thing.Originally Posted by Rasengan
Life Belt works better then Haste Belt for me (And Life Belt+Pie > Haste Belt+Sushi), but not sure how it works for Speed Belt. I want to get a Swift Belt and see if the 4% ACC on that is worth the 6 ACC loss.
On Deco's Ridill/Joyeuse completely demolishs Maneater/Ridill. There isn't much building for Ridill/Joyeuse that's different then Maneater/Ridill, and the difference made is a couple hundred damage (When I was using Maneater/Ridill, I was loosing to the NIN. After switching to Ridill/Joyeuse, I was outparsing the MNK. Just to give you an idea of the difference between the two).
Aura weapons, they're basically the exact same damage. I perfer Maneater though because, with Brutal Earring, the DA rate is still decent. Aura Weapons make my E-penis shrink(Go from averageing nearly 80 damage a hit/800 Vorpals with Ridill/Joyeuse to 55 damage a hit/600 Vorpals) but they're a lot better EXP.
EDIT:
I also don't think there's a haste cap, rather a delay cap, which you can read about here:

Someone sum this thread please..
which katana setup is better for damage?
and which setup is better for haste?
stun katanas are hot for tough mobs that need stuns since it has a good proc rate...
This thread is 7 pages long, you didn't honestly expect it to be related in any way to Unji/Unsho anymore did you?Originally Posted by Darkwarrior
trephine will out parse any of you!
Nny, they "nerfed" hundred fists, it no longer affects recast times![]()
