Just wanted to clarify something, vertebrates are chordates, which, in at least some part of their life, have pharyngeal gill slits."That thing inside you isn't a baby its a fish and it has gill slits that can be seen here"
Too bad thoes arent gill slits but folds of skin. I can show you a fat person with 10 folds of skin and they cant breath out of any of them except the top one. The folds of skin on an embryo are actually the early stages of bones in the ear and glands in the neck and there is not proof that it had "gills." Its just another lie to justify abortion.
Just let women decide and leave it at that, no need to force your beliefs on people.
It's easy to say "Abortion is wrong, you are killing babies, you go to hell and you die!" when you aren't the one that has to raise the little fucker.
I have faced that decision and in the end it wasn't mine to make, it was my girlfriend's. Of course, she really thought about it and decided to keep the baby. I'm glad she did.
But what if you take that choice away from a woman, especially if she's not prepared for such a responsibility?
That's when you see woman throwing their babies in dumpsters, or abusing the kid and treating them like shit. You see all those poor bastards out there that were mistreated as children, going out and killing people, wearing decapitated heads like hats and shit.
Or before they are even born, they smoke/drink/take drugs during the pregnancy, the babies being born with a full list of problems, diseases, even newborns addicted to drugs.
We see these things happening now, even with being able to choose, imagine how many more cases were to occur when you take away that choice.
Thinking that just because a woman is forced to keep a baby that the child is going to live happily ever after is ridiculously nieve.![]()
where the hell is pro-choice?
I like the responses I got just by making an observation
"you make the most pro-life posts"
"well your sig says you have a 33 whm"
HOLY SHIT THATS RELEVANT, WHAT A FUCKING RESPONSE!
None the less, you're right about me not posting because I'm not interested. Wait a second. No you're not.
I actually do have a deep interest and opinion on abortion, it's just I don't post because I think it's fucking pointless. Seriously, I feel sorry for the d-bag that has his opinions changed by some baseless ideas presented by a random person over the internet. I can't think of a better phrase to sum up my feelings for these threads then that of "Arguing over the internet is like the special olympics; even if you win, you're still retarded." Honestly, you're not changing any persons point of view on a topic so why the hell should you bother arguing an opinion? Another fun phrase I like is "Opinions are like assholes, everyone has them and everyone thinks everyone elses stinks." I mean, what are you trying to do? Make some random person over the internet accept that your "asshole" doesn't stink? What do you hope for in arguing. Seriously. What is your fucking purpose.
And that's not a rhetorical question; I seriously want to know why all of you people bother with these petty psuedo-debates.

Pointless comment deserve pointless answer. Locke defended his opinion pretty well, and didn't need help or support. There was no reason to make such statement, and even less to expect getting an answer for it.
I feel sorry for the person who is blinded by his own opinion, and refuse to ever change it. Random person or relative doesn't change much. If the other bring good point, they deserve to be considered as much as they would if it was in real life, or anywhere else.Seriously, I feel sorry for the d-bag that has his opinions changed by some baseless ideas presented by a random person over the internet
"Arguing over the internet is like the special olympics; even if you win, you're still retarded."
About retard olympic comment, it's not too far from the truth when certain person like you jump in a topic. Many people however are able to have decent conversation
Thanks for the reply (not sarcasm, I like it when people critique my opinions so I can see my flaws and such).
But I'd rather someone answer my question at the end of my post. The crap before it was seriously just "crap" to lead up to it, so I'm not too concerned about the response to that.
And to alleviate any misunderstandings, I'll just simplify my question to this:
"Why would someone bother with imprinting their views on another person that has a miniscule affect on their life"
And please, no critisizing, flaming, or irrelevant attacks. I honestly want people's thoughts. And if you don't feel like derailing this thread or anything, you can just PM with it. I'm doing this to learn, not antagonize the posters.
Why didn't anyone answer my question??
does you think that he is so against abortions because he was aborted?
Edit: /sarcasm... this is a quote from a show that i enjoy watching on occasion
When it comes down to it, Pro-Life and Pro-Choice are the best and most accurate terms to use when talking about this.
I really don't see it as a religious issue at all. You either feel its ok or you don't. The whole "government can't dictate what I can/cant do" argument is bad because most of the laws are put in place based on proper moral behavior of the day. Killing and theft were outlawed because it is immoral, NOT because it was in the ten commandments.
And when people say "At least they arnt thrown into a dumpster," it saddens me because I feel it is very similar. Either way you are throwing away a life. Either way the baby is dead in the end.
The ONLY situation I could halfly see as acceptable is rape/incest, and even then I would not support it, but I would at least understand it. Abortion as a form of birth control I feel is a horrible, inhumane thing. There are so many things you can do to prevent a baby in the first place if you really don't want one. Condoms, the pill, even abstinence (yes, people stay abstinent just to avoid having to worry about potential babies). And if one of those fails, there is always adoption. The 3% failure rate on condoms takes into account all of the people that have no idea how to use one, making the failure rate below 1%.
Just my opinion on things![]()

If someone come here and tell you 1+1= 3, you will most likely tell him to fuck off because it's totally unlogical. Same goes with more complex opinion. Both side believe what they want because they think it's the logical choice, and both side are going to tell the other to fuck off for the same reason. That's just how our brain work when we see something that goes against the logic.
Happy now?
Because it sound more like a random joke than a serious question? But before you start crying, no it's not okay, because you're not taking any responsabilities. It's the whole problem with people who are pro-abortion.Originally Posted by Almaa

100% agree with your post Demo.
I'm pretty sure it was to prevent anarchy. Saying something is immoral is just a nice way to get rational people not to do it, even though I agree humans natually know that killing each other feels wrong.Originally Posted by Demosthenes11
I had a random question, kinda on/off topic. Wasn't the Catholic Church against birth control at one point/maybe still are? An institution against birth-control and against abortion is leaving the only option as not having sex, which goes against basic human nature. And I feel safe claiming that its basic human nature, proof enough comes from the rampant molestation in the Church.
Just curious.
fair enough, but some laws are put in place to protect the public as well, aka J-walkingOriginally Posted by Xavier
I'm pretty sure that the Catholic church is against all forms of birth control, aka if you use a condom you are a sinner, stuff like that. It goes against the whole "proliferate and spread the church's teachings" kind of thing. That's the probably the same reason masterbation is immoral (not exactly sure on this one tbh)Originally Posted by Xavier
Stealing doesn't necessarily lead to anarchy (drawing Muhamed cartoon does tho). In the nature, the strongest is the one who is able to take what he want from other, and that's how they determine their rank and everything. It wouldn't be really different for human if stealing and murder were not outlawed. Society would have evolved differently for sure, but it might not be as anarchic as it could be. Well, in a way you're right because not being able to steal from the strongest isn't much different than not having the right to steal, but I still think there is a slight difference between both.Originally Posted by Xavier
The reason we are against those things is because we treat every human as equal and it's mostly due to our empathy for other human (or like you said, because it feels wrong). When we say something is immoral, it's because it goes against our empathy.
Well, no one is imune to flawed reasoning. While there is some good thing catholic did, there is stuff that arent as pretty.I had a random question, kinda on/off topic. I think their position on birth-control (it's more about having sexual pleasure for the sake of it than birth control itself) is mostly caused by their position on human nature. If you believe you have a soul, and also believe the only way to save it after the death is through sacrifice, it's not surprising you believe it's not okay to have that kind of fun. That's why they attribute more importance to "spiritual" side than material pleasure
The church understand it goes against human physical nature, but they believe it's the price to pay to save your soul. That's why they come to such conclusion sexual organ should be used only for reproduction, and not pleasure.
