Tamas ring is just an Ether Ring, Snow Ring, Aqua Ring and Peace Ring all rolled into one, except you don't lose HP with tamas.

Rajas ring is laughable at best, considering all the good melees wear woodsmans and eat meat. As people have pointed out, it's a WS ring, and leaving it on full-time is stupid.

How does this not add LOTS to your DoT?

The only melee I know who use meat in meripo are monks who focus each and everyone one of their merits on that job.

A few friends of mine even tried meat in xp pt, and they were so sorely disappointed by it they wanted to die and eat a raise1 to get rid of the food effect.

Acc isn't that much of a problem. On xp mob, with merit and good gear, you will have more than enough acc. On certain HNM, there is always sushi and brd.

And nothing stop you for using 1 rajas / 1 sniper is you really need acc. It's possible sniper is better in certain situation between 40 and 60, but those level really don't last long compared to end game and 60+.

Store TP is obviously only so you get those uber TP returns on Asuran Fists.

Full time Rajas Ring for me.

When I get max TP from meditate (SAM af2 hands) I'll be making LV3s with Soboro w/o using SP.

Have you actually tested the Store TP much? From what I was told by my friend it is really overrated and Store TP isn't that noticeable unless you have tons of it (SAM lol). The TP return from things like Barrage, Multi-hit WSs and just normal meleeing is going to be better of course.. but by a extremely small amount.

Add in the fact that mage jobs are ALOT more valuable end game than melee. Seriously good melee DD are a dime a dozen. I get better chains in KRT with people w/o the godly gear sometimes because when I pt with the pimped out melee we kill too fast for repops. On HNM you do not need more than 2 to 3 melee engaged on a HNM at a time, adding in more BLM after that is more efficient since they can actually cure themselves and give the HNM less TP.

As a BRD I got Tamas ring because I actually do need the - enmity and MP sometimes. I know for a fact if I level a melee job to 75, it will never get used on HNM.. my BRD will always be chosen over WAR, MNK, DRK, or whatever else. If I had a Rajas, it would go to waste at 75 because I get faster/better merits as a BRD, and BRD is much more needed than any job that would use Rajas.

Store TP is better for dual wielding jobs than it is for SAM, ironically enough. Thats why your friend probably said its worthless

I said overatted not worthless. Learn to read.

Oh yeah and Subtle Blow +5 would be more useful endgame for WAR/NIN since they feed HNM TP out the ass. Maybe that would make them more wanted in alliances compared to BLM zerging. As it stands now... a 1k dmg nuke from a BLM gives a HNM less TP than a WAR/NIN will.

All depends on what you want your ring for.

I never need MND, and INT at the same time. I can make up enmity in other slots. Max MP is overrated.

    Rajas Ring ftw.

Calm down there big guy, my point still stands. Its worse on SAM and 2h jobs than it is Dual wield jobs.

And yes, the Subtle blow is very nice too.

About Tamas, I passed it up as a BLM as well. The stats on Rajas are too unique. You can merit (or buy additional gear if you have the inventory space) the stats on Tamas, easily. You can't merit or buy Subtle Blow and Store TP +5. Not to mention as previously said, having both MND and INT at the same time is pointless. On WAR, having both DEX and STR is godly. Tie in the Store TP and Subtle Blow, both unique things, and you see why its a wiser choice for Melees who have Mage jobs.

idk... I would think the debate would be about the 5STR/DEX instead of the Store TP/SubtleBlow

I'm not a melee, but from what I hear subtle blow and store TP suck complete ass. But now everyone has such a boner from it.

They've never sucked ass, they're just not very noticeable unless in large numbers.

SAMs have always said that Store TP was worthless from my experience, and they were the only job with a large access to it. However, given that SAMs have Meditate, and wield 2h weapons, I can undestand how an extra 1-2 TP per hit isn't a major thing.

However, Rajas was the first item that offered a large amount of Store TP for the Haste jobs, Nin, Mnk, War, etc. When you swing as much as you do on those jobs, Store TP helps, especially since you get 2 procs of it per attack round, one on each weapon.

Subtle Blow is always a good thing to have as well, its just barely noticeable unless you have a ton of it or do a lot of soloing. But its one of those things that having is helpful, just in subtle(no pun intended) ways.

Yes I have, perhaps you missed my incredibly indepth reply earlier in this topic. The point is that Rajas ring is so broken for gaining TP on jobs that break the 5TP floor with low delay weapons. (Did you know Ridill/Joyeuse only has 6 more total delay then Senji/Fudo?) Of course SAMs don't care about Store TP, most SAMs wear Suzaku's Sune-ates when they melee and think Meditate is the only means of getting TP.

As a BRD I got Tamas ring because I actually do need the - enmity and MP sometimes.
Why get a ring that can be replaced by a better one for BRD? (Serene.)
Yes it's incredibly expensive or hard to obtain...but its obtainable. Plus a BRD is never pulling hate if you make good use of Raven gear and ONLY use CHR/Skill gear for Elegy/Debuffs.

Anyone who merits enmity either way is retarded. Rajas ring wins only because it is beneficial to the dime a dozen melee jobs rather than the comparably fewer mage jobs. It saves you more gil that way. I would rather the ring have more Subtle blow than have Store TP. STR/DEX is marginally better than MND/INT. Still it is just AH buyable stats. You play a mage job.. I play BRD. Tamas was viable to me because I do not forsee me using a melee job endgame in xp or in HNM situations. BRD at the moment is in much more demand than just another melee job and probably always will be. Your LS must have alot of BLM to have you come as WAR rather than BLM.

Yep, we do, and I enjoy tanking as well, so I come when I can.

Anyways, you're justifying your choice of rings, thats fine. You're right, its better for your job choices. For us with both a Melee and Mage job lvled, Rajas was better for our job choices. Whats the problem here?

Kinda surprised so many people view Rajas as the best CoP ring of the three. Being an end-game site I figured more people would see the value of Tamas and Sattva.

A lot of people here are emphasizing Rajas because of its value in EXP/merit parties, but honestly, who cares? As someone in my LS said, they spend 80% of their time EXP/merit'ing so Rajas made the most sense for them but.....I guess they forgot why they were EXP'ing or merit'ing in the first place.

Its not so you can get chain 25 instead of chain 23 before you run out of mobs, its so that you can be more effective when it counts, against end-game mobs or when you're short-handed against some mob with 2-3 LS breathing down your neck waiting for you to falter.

As for Store TP being useless, its definitely not. But as others have said, its just not as noticeable unless you have it in large quantities. SAM job traits give probably ~40 or so Store TP (if its similar to the scale of other job traits like RNG accuracy bonus) and its *VERY* noticeable in terms of normal TP gain when compared to other 2H jobs. For instance, my DRK gets 10-11 TP with 444 delay Subduer, whereas my SAM will get 14-15 TP with 450 Shinsoku/Hagun. The end result is hitting 100+ TP in 2-3 less swings which is huge, especially since a miss while building TP feels like an eternity.

For other jobs the impact is going to be far less noticeable. It'll basically let you hit 100 TP one swing sooner. When you're dealing with low delay weapons and jobs with multiple attack procs, the effect of Store TP doesn't mean shit....its like a double attack that never happened.
