As a pld I tanked with a drk/nin using kraken offhand around 66. I got my ass beaten. Of course, our only mages were a shitty brd and shitty whm, so maybe that was it.

I don't use it when it'd be absolutely retarded to. I go back to scythe for goobues, but with a good DD party I use it on flies (does like 30 damage a smack, they drop faster than they get TP.) or whatever else. But any other mob it's pretty much fun stuff, it's never gotten me into trouble.

And I only use soul eater if Emiere (my mule) is around to cure me, because regardless of how much warning I'd give a mage in my PT - they just dont like to cure. (No, I dont keep souleater on for full duration.)

+ On the tanking side of things, I normally end up with hate for 75% of it.. but Utsusemi + haste + speed belt ftw

I wonder as a RDM if you can put a shit load of -STR gear on and just use enspells with a Kraken. That way, you'd be doing damage with the En-spells, but giving the mob any TP 'cause you're weaker than shit. Just a thought...

Edit: Although, upon reflection, I guess you wouldn't do any weapon skill damage.

You'd still hit for more than 0dmg.. I tried wielding the lowest sword I could find, went full errant/mahatma for the least amount of STR I could have and still hit Steelshells for more than 0 when I was trying to skillup my sword skill.

we had 4 100s (2 byne, 2 goldpiece? or something) from the d-valk boss (cirrate christelle). It was about 3 weeks in after the CoP dynamises were introduced
