You only need to acticate the af2 quest, you don't need to finish it to clear for the hands quest.

You cannot have another af hands quest active.

You must be on the job that you need the AF for when talking to the NPC for the first time.

lemme explain why i asked this question,


All the jobs that I've leveled up, naturally I would do the AF2 because they are useful pieces. I did whm af2 because it was pretty much default (my first job). I did NIN because of the evasion+ at night, I did Bst because of the charm+ and I did warrior because of the double attack enhancement.

I looked at the blm boots, and saw how it was a shitty af so i did not bother with it and went automatically to the gloves which I had problems with thinking I did something wrong with my previous AF's and the dark spark or maybe I was missing something.

Please excuse me for having multiple jobs at level 75 and not having the inventory to house useless AF's/Skipping a few AF's which in turn made me ask this question.

But if you get the full set of AF for each job, you can give it to the NPC storage people. That alone is worth getting the whole set.

Agreed. I usually do the AF right when I hit 50 so I can storage that shit while I wait to be able to use the more useful pieces (see: rdm af after the shitty gloves and shoes.)

NPC storage is gud until you get any AF1+1 though. But I think you can redo the AF you upgraded so you can storage that junk again.

Garrison Boots - 800k for 1 INT, pass.
Mannequin Pumps - Have to finish mannequin, which some people have, so this is viable, if not, mannequin is 2m+, pass.
Mountain Gaiters - 2-3m? Pass.

I just wore my RSE Boots (HP +20) unless my region was in control of an area, then TM Pigaches +1 / +2. Taru don't get shit for feet unless you wanna spend a couple million, or get Garrison Boots (Good Luck)

It's one of those pieces of armor, that if youre naked in that slot instead, you wouldn't notice any difference unless you were tanking and needed that +agi to evade and -interupt to not get interupted.

I'm not going to sit here and say 1.5 years ago I was a moron for not getting +1 int in that slot instead of getting my aquilos staff. Maybe now when everyone can buy gil/already has a job to 75 and get the expensive stuff, but when I was leveling blm, my priorities were saving up for NQ staves (which were expensive back then) and then working on my HQ set, and an elemental torque, all of which are 100x better than +2 int. Again, someone's not gimp for having them instead of the options listed. For someone that says they're a hardcore blm 4 life, you of all people should know that.

You don't have to buy all those boots. Mannequin BCNMs are really easy for one example.
