Edit: Anyway... Why did you bring up WoW? I played FFXI. I did a good bit Sea and I know how much of a fruitless battle it was for little to no rewards and the rewards where not even remotely worth the time and effort involved.

Yeah, sucks theres no money up there, but you cant say the items that drop up there are shit. the weapons are pretty damn good, most of the torques are beyond uber. I'd rather wear weapon skill+7 over peacock charm.

What I meant by that was those weapons were not that great. Some where ok, but nothing fantastic. Their damage was low and it required massive farming for the items to make it proc a double attack. Secondly, to get to some bosses would take months or more. In our case, it took us two weeks to get enough to pop the first Jailer (The one that you need to collect chips for). Maybe some people had better luck, but we didn't. All we got was his great axe that sucked. No torque. No item to pop next tier... Yay?

As I was saying. Sea is more for the challenge then it is for the rewards.

They'll burn through a stack of virtue stones so fast that it would require upwards to or more than 10 stacks of virture stones PER merit party... It's just another way for SE to help you burn time in their game.

Edit: That is unless your merit parties only last an hour or two max... But the ones we had in my LS would last 5-6 hours minimum upwards to 8... Basically you'd go with no merits and come back maxed.
