Technically TMO owns the teams they played against. It would have to be us in there losing in order to make that statement. We never said TMO doesnt own the tournamant. We just stated that obviously based on their skill in other areas Ballista isn't everything, and doesn't even prove if the competition they had was good to begin with.

What I don't get is just about ALL of endgame believes Ballista sucks. (Make a poll on these forums, look at all of the top LSes on each server and see who entered ballista.) So who's to say 90% of people who actually know how to play this game and are involved in endgame even bothered to enter these tournamants. Who's to say winning this proves anything. It just proves the people who care more about the actual aspects of this game that work (though few and far between) didn't care enough to join one of the worst PvP systems ever to grace the internet.

If you wanna "own" someone play an FPS or something that actually involves skill and eye hand coordination. Only people who get owned in Ballista are the unfortunate people who even bother to play it.

For the record.. I am ex-TMO. I left because I needed a break from HNM, and a break from some of the people in the LS. When I decided it was time to return to HNM's I chose to join a primarily JP HNMLS because the leader was someone I looked up to, as being a very competent and good player. The LS is also one of the oldest HNM shells on the server, with a long history, and is filled with very nice and competent people who just do their job, and do it correctly.

The introduction of the various tools (whatever they may be, I can't be bothered enough to find out) has really led to the downfall of the "end game" in FFXI. No one trusts or respects any potential ability of any other group, it all comes down to accusations of being a botter. I understand the reasons for their usage, due to the unbeatable latency that "doesn't exist". I don't condone them, cheating at a MMO is sad. It does however appear to be the only method to "win" claims for people on some servers. That is a problem SE needs to address, but given their track record.. I don't see it happening.

Right now the hot topic seems to be (in certain circles) that one LS or the other bots like crazy. I make no accusations, since I have no basis to make them. I'm not sitting in the room with the person, so how can I say one way or another. The existence of these tools of course lays a cloud of suspicion over every single claim of a contested HNM. So the accusations fly without merit, just because a person gets X number of claims in a row, all of a sudden they must be a tool user. The existence of the tools is the problem. IN accused us of using bots as well, just like they accuse TMO. Now accusations are flying all around.. everyone must be botting OMGZ!

As far as IN goes, they in fact do a lot of stuff that other HNMLS (JP/NA) on Siren can only dream of doing. They have the right chemistry to do them, and do them relatively consistently. More power to them. I respect them as a whole for that.

The HNMLS I am in now, tends to focus only on Fafnir/Nidhogg as we are after one thing in particular for one person. The others are incidental and not consistent constant targets. I consider IN to be our best competition for Fafnir/Nidhogg and thanks for the free Nidhogg the other day :wink: No one is perfect, everyone makes mistakes. As tempting a target as TMO can be at times, that horse is pretty dead I reckon. No reason to beat it anymore.

I have extricated myself from the drama in the NA shells for the most part, and only hear of it second hand through one friend or another. I like to think of myself as a neutral party when it comes to certain rivalries since I have pals in both shells that are duking it out in this thread.

The Ballista thing is.... interesting sorta kinda. Not like true PvP in DAoC for example, its just S-E's effort to try and make it fit into their vision of Vana'diel. It still emphasizes teamwork etc. But in the end.. its just a mini game.

So the point of all this..

Meh who gives a flying fuck.. we're all bitching and moaning about some fucking data stored on a server in Japan that will be a fleeting memory in a few years time. If the only way to make yourself feel better is to belittle someone else...

Who's E-peen is bigger? TMO's or IN's? I'd have to lean towards IN at the moment because of their accomplishments. But they lose a bit in the size department because of their arrogance. No illusions of "Can't we all just get along?" There's way too much bad blood between the camps at this point, and only a fucking delusional person would think that any peace or goodwill can or will exist.

Actually it was a very well thought out problem with the game. SE doesn't do jack shit about botting or exploits on HNMs. And if you want to be taken seriously by SE you have to speak japanese.

Remember that whole "Certain wryms are going to build sleep resistance" part of the update? The CoP wryms are NOT affected by this. Only Fafnir and Nidhogg are affected. And can anyone remember why SE would have to change the sleep resistance on those 2 wryms? Because on one server a whole lot of shit went down one day and JP's complained about it. Need details:
