enfeebling silence

ok this is pissing me off like mad. everytime we goto god hunt including kirin. This blm/whm continually silences EVERY GOD AND KIRIN.
i check his equip asked him stats and everything i have is higer than his. HE DOSENT EVEN USE A WIND STAFF
we hve silence wars at gods/kirin and whm and blms continually out silence the rdm.

my friend is an uber rdm with good gear hq staves capped enfeebling merits capped wind acc merits. i am about half that. and we cant even silence nearly as much as other ppl. I have had bards and whm out silence us rdms. i jsut dont understand. does everything have a resist RDM trait?

help? lmao its kinda depressing. i cant tell u stats cause im at work atm but from what i see evertghin i have is better than these ppl. Rdm is set up for enfeebling but we are getting out enfeebled by other jobs .

Most people on these boards really dont care for kirin or sky gods or even do them at all, can do some with pickup pt's, so these boards aren't the place for this. Now if you were referring to sea gods or maybe wyrms you would get a better response... maybe.

Honestly, this forum really is turning into kind of a piece of shit. These forums were better a long time ago, back when the videos were coming out and I didn't even bother registering. People are too damn concerned with loot.. it is all about what drops from what monster. Monsters with shitty loot pools are good to kill once for the challenge and thats it. It is getting harder and harder to have fun in FFXI.

And you pointed out why i didnt bother registering too, so much information a while back, now its alot of drama, more reason to read than post... but thats because there isn't enough new things in game to talk about till expansion.

Ok...I'll go against the grain and actually give you my theory on why enfeebles work the way they do.

I think when you have a God...and Kirin, certain spells have a HARD CAP. Say something like 15% chance to silence Kirin or one of the 4 Gods. (Just a random number, it seems to be alot lower then that.) And no matter what your enfeebling, wether it be 330 or 220, you can't get above that cap, just to make things "interesting". (Personally I like a Kirin who casts spells over one who just whirlwinds you to death.)

Either that...or certain mobs, have a very innate resist job trait that makes them resist the effect of a spell, no matter how often it actually succesfully lands. Something like a Kindred Summoner having Resist Slow, and no matter how many times you technically land Elegy, it still has a chance to get resisted. Only thing that makes me skeptical about that, is the fact that when a mob like a Summoner has a Job Trait of "Resist Slow" it gives you a different message then the message you get when Silence doesnt stick on a god etc. So I'm leaning more towards reason #1, of hard caps.

Theory is pretty solid. Makes no sense that a RDM with Enfeebling skill up the ass + Elemental Seal be resisted "normally" at all. It must be like a set chance of resistance/success no matter what job is trying and I don't think ES accuracy matters on Kirin. Usually if ES + enfeeble is resisted it means that mob has a 100% resistance to that spell (i.e. skeletons to Sleep, ghosts to Paralyze), but this isn't the case with Kirin.
