i got a question, high quality shadows all the time, does anyone use this?

my pc is more than powerfull enough, but i still get lag using those, i know the game was coded by a dyslexic crack baby, but still, i got a athlon64 3800 dual core, a gig of ram, a 74g raptor, and a x800xt pe

im running 1280x1024 with 2048x2048 and bumped up the mipmapping, and all settings at their highest, except shadows, hell i can run dynamis like this with no problems (every once and a while i get down to like 10fps, but normally im around 20-25fps, outside of dynamis i rarely drop below 25fps)

when i set shadows to high my fps drops immediately by about 10-15fps and it stutters like crazy

id like to know if theres any settings i can drop with no noticable drop in quality to be able to run shadows at high ><

and dropping the 2048x2048 is not an option, once you run at this, you do not want to go to anything lower, i tried 1600x1600, it was too noticable, and pissed me off lol

amd64 3400 + 9800pro and i never used High shadows unless its an xp pt in an uncrowded area. Running appx 1200x900 res (to fit with windower/ other shit i have running.) never found a reliable way to make high shadows ok without the huge framrate drop in slightly/highly crowded areas.
