Vagrant Story at least had a decent soundtrack, but the game itself was rather terrible.

I'm worried that they'll further rape the FF series, especially after hearing it plays simular to FFXI, which really isn't an FF in any way, shape, or form.

FFXII will most likely be a good game. They are developping it for like ...3-4 years? It would be hard to come with something terrible after spending so much money, but does it really deserve a 40? We will see, I just hope the story will be long and good like it usually was for FF game.

I'm guessing he was being sarcastic. I am looking forward to FFXII, the only FF that I have not liked was IX and X-2 and even then IX wasn't that bad. IX had a kinda weird and weak storyline and X-2 was a fucking joke. They tried to put a happy ending to a perfect sad ending.

The game industry has more then once been compared to the porn industy. Neither has much depth, but both focus on getting to the point and providing lots of fan service.

Vagrant Story was one of the best PS games. Too bad it was too easy to cheese your way through.

I find a lot of people who hated the story to FFVIII also hated VS's story too. Granted, the storys of both weren't all that great, but the way they told the story seemed more real to me than other games.

You don't have to have a great story as long as there is great storytelling.

Lol. Maybe you're right. I still have my hope high tho. I mean, how could you explain FFXI's programmer absense other than by saying they went to work on FFXII. Maybe they actually put some time to make a good game.

Well some people would disagree, because it all boils down to what kind of stories you like.

I loved FF8, then again it was my first FF... and FF6 still beats any story of them ever but in my heart FF8 will always have it's place. Vagrant Story I enjoyed as well, since it was a different game.

I have my hopes high FF12 will be great. Only FF makes me feel nostalgic at times.

Imo, people liking/hating FF game is mostly due to one of those two things

1) Nostalgia (the order you played them basically, and what you played when you were a kid)
2) Counter fanboyism. You start hating something you feel is overrated by the mass, despite the fact it's not that bad.

I assume everyone has taste too, but extreme are usually caused by what I said above

Does any of this even matter? We all have to admit we're FF fanboys (girls don't play videogames) and will buy FFXII regardless of positive or negative reviews.
