yes. some but definitely can't stun Citadel Buster.Originally Posted by rbt
Easy fight as long as everyone vacates the room when it starts the countdown. As long as you have multiple tanks to rotate while ppl are weakened, 3 should be fine.
It's Dissipation, and it does not remove food or signet, but everything else goes bye bye.AoE Terror+Dispel move is called Disseverment or something like that, he doesnt use it much but its definetly a pain in the ass at lower health
Another thing I haven't seen mentioned is that he most definitely has some sort of TP regen/auto-meditate.
My chat log at one point read:
Proto-Ultima readies Armor Buster.
Ibihni takes 843 points of damage.
Ibihni hits Proto-Ultima for 23 points of damage.
<Alliance member> is defeated by Proto-Ultima.
<Alliance member> is defeated by Proto-Ultima.
Ibihni misses Proto-Ultima.
Proto-Ultima readies Dissipation.
Those two TP moves were both performed in the space of about 5 seconds (dual wield, which is why that's two attacks there).
Did you see the part about this thread being over 2 months old before you posted that ?-.-
lolz he necro bumped it. BAN
jk idc
We downed Ultima easily multiple times with a PLD/NIN + NIN tanking setup.
Our most recent run killed him in under 30 minutes, making me tempted to start playing with the chests beforehand :P
Make sure mages always blink/stoneskin, and everyone with shadows always keeps them up, since the random Holy IIs can one-shot a lot of the more fragile jobs. You can easily stun any of his stupid Fan attacks if you know how to predict them. A fan will always be the next WS after Nuclear Waste, so as soon as waste goes off, just have someone watch Ultima, and youll be able to stop the fan no problem.
The only dangerous thing in this fight at all is that god damn Armor Buster move. 400-600 is a lie. It hits mages for 900+ sometimes, so even with stoneskin mages stand a good chance of dying to it, or come really close. The first 85% of this fight is very easy, only the last 15% is challenging at all. And by challenging, I mean you have to RR a lot. Random people will be locked in and killed by Citadel Buster occasionally, which will cause hate to go all over the place. If he hits you with Armor Buster when hate is messed up, you'll prolly lose a lot of random people. Not to mention Armor Buster causes gravity, which might cause someone to unnecessarily die to Citadel...
You just really need to endure this portion of the fight, and it's going to last a while. Keep DoTs up, and make sure not to waste MP/TP when he puts up the immunities.
Oh, and on very rare occasions you can dodge Citadel Buster. Ultima draws in at regular intervals, and if you can time it so you run away right as the counter hits 1, sometimes you can get out of range. Helps to have something with +12-25% movement speed to pull that off though, and definitely don't rely on it. Our PLD/NIN was able to pull it off like 25% of the time when we realized it was possible.
One last thing, unresisted, Citadel Buster does 2088 damage exactly, meaning a Galka with pure HP gear can definitely survive it, if you wanted to use that somehow :P
Well it entirely depends on what you're throwing at it for DD's. If it's all rangers, black mages, and chi blaster then PLD/NIN is sort of up a creek without a paddle. Our last win involved the use of 4 SAM/THFs though so hate couldnt have been planted any harder, dropped it 50% in 10 minutes easy.Originally Posted by Ichthyos
