Ok, let's look at this for a second. You are judging based on what they do, let's look at this video at what these two men are doing. The police officer, is barking orders, then shooting the man that follows them. Upstanding police officer for sure. The soldier, follows the orders given by the police officer, and is rewarded with 2 or 3 bullets. Personally i think that regardless of what this soldier does in the military, he seems a lot more capable than this panicky policeman.

I only really have one more thing to say on the subject. I'm not saying that i have no respect for our police force, but i have a ton more for our armed forces. Our police, while there are good ones, mostly comprise of people who waste taxpayers dollars going after petty shit like someone speeding 5 mph over the limit or jaywalking rather than going after criminals that actually make our streets unsafe.

Take the town i live in currently, Lakeland FL. It is the meth capital of the world, and this is an up-to-date statistic. The police here spend more time harrassing civilian drivers about petty driving misdimeanors during the daytime hours, than setting up police traps at night for the people who are high/drunk whatever and actually a problem.

It is in very few cases that police officers are required to actually get into the nitty gritty and save lives in a shoot-out, that's what S.W.A.T. etc.. is for. The run of the mill police force in 'most' area's require little more out of their officers than to reach the monthly quota on speeding tickets.

I don't have a problem if i get caught doing something wrong, i know i'm testing the water if i speed, if i get caught so be it. I have a problem with the police sitting in a fucking donut shop then going out and harrassing people while ignoring the real problems(and don't get me wrong, there are a lot of fucking stupid people that give cops shit for no reason). I have a problem with the cop who goes and pulls someone over doing 5 mph over the limit, then goes and picks up a envelope of cash from the local meth dealer to leave them be(and yes that is quite freaking common). That's what i have a problem with, and yes i do know that it goes on, perk of being a psychology/criminology major and knowing the law enforcement of the area.

I can sympathize with you on one thing though, it does suck when the police do actually do their job correctly and the judicial system fucks it up, you surely do have my sympathy in that respect. And in that regard how can i blame the police for being arrogant and, knowing that if they do actually do the right thing it'll go to waste because our judicial system sucks. I agree with you there.

We're all nobody's and nobody is an exception. I'm sorry if i'm a cynical person but it goes with the territory of having a brain and actually using it. And no i'm not singling you out, for all i know (which i don't) you could be a great cop. However, the majority of cops that i've known in my life are not. They are corrupt every chance that they get if they can get away with it, and only do what makes them look good so that they can advance in their field. Is it right or wrong? Well in a capitalist society, it's no wonder that even our law enforcement agency's only think of way's to improve their own standing.
