it doesn't matter where they are, they're all employed by the united states of america. I really couldn't care less about your thoughts on the current administration or how they're using the military. hate bush and the iraq war all you want, but if you can't figure out on your own why the soldiers of your country deserve respect then you're already too far gone. its a lost cause trying to argue it.

I don't get it. Why exactly should I respect what they are doing there? I mean, no one is remotely forcing anyone to go fight there at this point, so if they are doing so, that means that they support what the president is intending to do, or they are blindsighted enough to think that they are actually protecting their country from some grave danger. I've read so many times bumper stickers like "Hate bush, support our troops" but we don't have a draft. So what did they decide to go and fight there for. For America? That's just nationalism speaking, it has no meaning when you actually stop and think about it. Whether they want to acknowledge it or not, by signing up they're supporting the ineptitude of this administration, they're not "defending america." So no, I see no logical reason to respect the troops. I don't want them to die, but at the same time, I don't see why they should get any respect.

Which is why I used the hooker analogy, if you're just doling out respect based on danger of the profession, well hooker has to be up there somewhere.

Huh what? If you're in the military, and they say, hey you're going to iraq.. you're going to iraq, you've no choice in the matter.. short of getting sent to the stockade for 20 years.

no, i have distinctly said that not every cop is like that, i can't speak for cops i don't know or haven't interacted with, as i said last page i believe.

But, of the cops i do know, and have interacted with, which is the majority of the area i'm in, most cops aren't very respectable people.

i fight the war on obesity every day in america by eating all the food i can get my hands on. that way no food is left over for anyone else, so all they can do is starve and stay thin. love me for protecting our country.
