not planning to use it, but I made some sigs for it. I dunno why they accept GIF and lossless JPG but not PNG, format discrimination? =( somehow the lossless jpg file always comes out as error unless opened in photoshop, anyone knows why? I sent that out anyway.

The reason we can't accept PNG is due to the software we use to dynamically create the signatures. It just doesn't support them. However, we'll be looking into other ways of supporting PNG. Believe me, I for one want to use them!

By the way Cybaster, if you've submitted those backgrounds, they don't seem to have been successfully uploaded. If you still want to enter them, please try again.

You mean you aren't using GD for PHP to generate the images? I thought GD was fairly standard.

I was going to suggest using imagefilter(image_name, IMG_FILTER_COLORIZE, r, g, b) so you could create more color variance from a few greyscale backgrounds, but that is a GD function.

Comment: CREATOR: gd-jpeg v1.0 (using IJG JPEG v62), quality = 90

You'd have to be using a very old gd library to not have png support, which is entirely possible. (gd-jpeg 1.0 seems to be a generic tag attached regardless of the actual installed library version)

Contact your hosting company and ask them what's up? ;o

time to restate the fact that Vanaguide.com is more than just a sig thing, and will have more than just a sig thing in the future.

looking at overall posts it seems that is the majority impression - a site to get a neat sig, and thats it.
