Eh, personally I'd just suggest dropping the gil reward all together and apologizing to everyone who already put time into it. Otherwise I have a feeling Vana'guide Signatures are going to go the way of the caveman. It's a brilliant idea and excellently implemented, but it's just a can of worms. And it's opening. It will start with people removing them, then it will continue with people alienating anyone who uses them, then those people will stop using them. Eventually, nobody will use them anymore and all this hard work you put in will have gone to waste. I really think it's in your best interest to just drop the gil reward all together, or figure out a way to do it that doesn't involve an RMT company. Maybe make some other incentive, like a custom signature just for the winner.

Those that support the site will continue to show off their nice sigs and those that don't will just have their accounts removed. We're not begging people to use our sigs... remember we're doing this for YOU.

I agree with Neil... this was just an incentive to get some good backgrounde designed. Just think of us using this as a means of giving the reward to someone on a different server becuase that's what we're doing. If it was on the same server we'd be able to just give it to you.

Well we have many many things to come including the up and coming VG Bazaar which will allow you to search each-other's bazaars through the website and a way to keep your linkshell communicating via a content system we haven't named yet. Even some other things I can't mention.

Anyway, I don't blame some of you for getting upset but how do you know we didnt just give them our gil to give out to others? Think of them as Western Union.

Either way, gonna stop paying attention to this thread. Still have people signing up every minute so best I can do is hipe those that are offended by this will come back when the new content comes out.

Well we are indeed in this for you guys, that's the whole point of this and many of you are clearly making it obvious you're not happy about what we've decided to do recently so we'll be talking it over and possibly removing the prize money in place of Premium accounts once we have premium content.

On behalf of Vana'Guide as a whole we did not mean to offend anyone and if it did I personally apologize, our intent was not to upset anyone just to trying new and exciting things that the current FFXI Content sites out there don't do.

We do appreciate your feedback and read as much as we can and take in as much as we can.

To those that were looking forward to the 3 million Gil, we're sorry, but, since people have shown their disapproval for the gesture, the decision has been taken to remove the prize money from the competition.

The rules of the competition stay the same, as does the deadline (20th March), but the prize will now be that the winning backgrounds will be added to the application.

We're sorry that you feel the need to actually boycott what is essentially an excellent program over what was nothing more than an act of friendship. However, there will now be no prize money on offer for the winners.

We're always looking for ways to increase our hits to the site (and not just for the signature application) and this was one avenue. It apparantly has not been well recieved and therefore it has been removed. As my earlier post stated, along with Xtek's, we're doing this as a service to you, the gamer. It is not our intention to cause offense to anyone.
