Thought I'd make a little announcement about the continued development of Vana'Guide's Signature content.
We'd like to first off thank the community for your continued support and feedback. The support and feedback we received really shocked us. We've received an enormous amount of positive feedback and minimal negative so it looks like things are going smoothly.
I'd like to talk about some of the feedback we received. Most of it seemed to be geared towards customization. We do plan to add much more customization features in the near future but we just thought we'd get a public release out to the public to get our feet wet. I can't say for sure what will be included/added or changed or what period it will happen in at the moment just becuase we're simply just trying to get things planned out right now. The next biggest feedback I saw were just general features. I will release a feature list soon as we're done conversing and get some things straigthened out. Next on the list, Compatibility with x64. Ah, this was a big one becuase I originally didn't want to put it in to soon becuase I didn't think too many people were using Windows x64 due to the fact that at the current point in time nothing really takes advantage of it. This I plan to address within the next major version release, I can't say for sure I will but I do plan on looking into it soon. The rest of the feedback seemed to be due to some minor problems with connecting and updating. This was due in large part to how it connects, right now it uses a TCP Connection Syncronously. I plan on changing this to Async soon as I can.
Keep reading... much more to say.
We plan on adding lots of information to the protocol. This includes but not limited to, currently equipped equipment. This will allow us to make a live profile system that people can link to, of course this option will be optional most likely for those that chose not to have that information uploaded. We also plan on releasing some new free/premium services, but you'll have to wait to find out what they are!
One thing I'd like to address before I wrap up this announcement is the concern with security. I realize that many people are a little concerned about using an application such as VG Signature due to the fact that it gathers information from FFXI and sends it to our servers. Well, if you're honeslty that worried about it you can start the program AFTER you're already logged into FFXI. At this point there is nothing harmful in memory including Credit Card Information and/or Account Information. Another issue was with the installer being infected. It is indeed, not infected this is just a fasle-positive that most people see very often. Even POL has False-positives with some Anti-Virus's. Just remember to make sure PLEASE PLEASE download all of our software directly from our webiste. Even if it's from a friend, just go to our website and download it for your own protection. Don't forget you can always contact me at: chad at vanaguide dot com.
Hope to hear from everyone soon!

Public Application Programmer/Developer
