Good chance it'll be more than 8 months for zones like Al'taieu or sky, the timeline showed they plan on updates extending into next year too.
That list probably isn't all the details of every update. I'm sure there is a mix of everything(kind of like CoP had tiny and big story updates, armor, quests, NMs, such and such). Ahhh... motherfuckers. Every one of those datapoints has "new expansion story" so they're telling us ahead of time the fucking expansion isn't done and it's going to be a year after you install it that you actually get what you payed for. Stupid bitchs aren't going to have a player base for the next expansion if they haven't figured it out yet.
At least this time we have an idea of when things are coming and if more is coming, instead if wandering around in the dark not knowing anything.
They could have at least had JA merits ready by launch. This is pretty shitty news.

Level Caps
- There won't be many (or any?) level capped zones in TAU.
- There will be some level caps in the missions.
Colosseum
- this is an arena in which you can let monsters fight each other. it sounds like you'll be controlling a monster in a fight, they didn't explain it much.
Chocobo Raising
- it won't be that time consuming to raise chocos--it was compared to gardening in that you could log on for 30 mins and take care of your choco and then log off.
- you can let your chocobo go on dates with friends' chocobos, or something.
- later on they're going to have a Chocobo Circuit and race yours vs friends, etc etc.
Mog Locker
- they said at release it'll be 30, expandable to 50... but later you'll be able to expand it further. maybe another 80?
Timeline
- "New multi-player battle additions" <-- They said this will be for like limbus/dynamis size groups.
You buy the expansion for the right to play ToUA content. You pay monthly fees for the content. Majority of the content comes from updates... which is true for every single MMORPG.
Somehow I think that 'player base for the expansion' will include everyone bitching here.
oh i forgot. they said the job balance adjustments will be "significant".

Thing is, while you all might be bitching that the story didnt come all at once ( i really dont mind this at all ) , you are playing, you are captured by the expansion, awaiting the next one.
Think of it this way : On drama series/daytime soaps, they always put a big buildup towards friday's episode, but they will not give anything away on friday, they'll give the answers on monday, create a new scenario midweek, more buildup on friday, and the cycle repeats.
It's just the way entertainment works, and you cant seriously be surprised.

I really hope they make a large amount of nuking at a single time only effective when grouped with Skillchain, but otherwise left alone. At the same time, I hope they give monsters TP-regen that differ on their type(exp or HNM) and boost melee damage vs high defense/evasion monsters.

I also laugh when people are dissapointed they're not getting the whole game at once.
Would you a ) prefer a bugged to shits game, and have a server maintenance every day, or b) wait for them to release them in the least bugged way as possible, only to have them fix it during the monthly maintenance.
You guys who've never touched the gaming industry on the inside can keep complaining, but when it comes to making games, people are never satisfied. I'd rather take the wait (so long as there's something WORTH waiting for, unlike CoP) , than take the whole thing at once, rushed to shits.

A major thing to "nerf" blm's can be, mobs aggro you if you start casting on them. Would stop manaburns that start nuking mobs b4 they are aggroed/pulled. But this way, none of our skills and spells are nerfed, just the exploitation of a lot of BLM being used at once in certain situations.
