you cant blame hollywood for the progression of violent content in society. why? because hollywood only makes things they percieve we want to see. if american society didnt want to see movies of this nature, guess what? they would do horrible at the box office, lose money and then the companies would re-evaluate their current market demographic.
so if you dont like horror movies because of whatever reason, (usually its some lame religous manafestation), then dont provide patronage to that movie and go see something else. seriously, it was a thread telling you i saw this movie. i said i liked it, you all know its a horror movie so the choice is on you to watch it. i dont care about your moral idealism, i was just reassuring you this movie was good in my opinion.

by saying horror movies promote societal violence is absurd. humans are just as violent today as they were 500 years ago. the only thing that a movie of this nature does, is play on our fears. horror movies dont bring out the secret lust in us, they use the most basic premise of "this could happen to you" to give you an artifical sense of unease and fright.
