bow down to hawtness m(_ _)m
I'm jealous.
I am not entirely sure what I feel about this. Part of me is happy since for my first year and a half, Lei was the pld on the server who alot of us wished to be. Regardless of how NC acted to the NA community at the time, it was for the most part their server at the time and we were jumping in.
I guess it would mean more to me if this was actually still the same Lei as before. Since the account was sold/given to a fellow LS member, it feels a bit more tainted to me. For those not on our server, this speaks more of a group completing a goal than just one person I suppose.
I need some kitty litter to control what's going on in my pants.
I LOVE SHUEMUE'S SIG.
I'm pretty sure it's still lei that plays it i think only micken gave his account away.Originally Posted by Turlos.

that was micken.
Incredible.
I talk with a JP buddy of mine who joined PB (the shell that Lei is in now, NC reformed basically) and he told me the whole story behind Lei and Micken leaving NC, if anyone cares, i'll post it!
NC was lead by Beru, who is a total ass. Lei had enough currency to upgrade both sword and shield months ago, but NC had limited numbers and couldnt kill the animated weapons before they warped. Lei wanted to use DRK/NIN with krakens to kill them, but Beru refused since he dislikes dark knights, which understandably pissed off lei a good deal. Then the LS's 2nd shadow mantle dropped, which beru took for himself. When someone asked why beru gets it, he responded "If you want a mantle, you can make your own LS". That was the last straw for Lei, who quit NC and the game, and Micken followed.
PB was then formed, and Lei and Micken decided to come back to the game. They are both the original players even though Micken's name was changed when he quit, and Lei's account info was given to a friend.
Also, when people left NC, beru demanded their herald gaiters back so he could give them to older members. When he got them, he set up bazaar and sold them, and RMT'd about 900 million gil. LoLz.
And you all thought only NA's had this kind of drama.
On topic: Lei's equip is sick, but his LS also had sole control of all kings without any competition for a year. If a NA shell had that, I'm sure a year from now (since JPs have been playing this game a year longer than the rest of us) I'm sure there'd be one if not more paladins with similar gear. So while it is a great accomplishment, its sorta expected given how much of an advantage he and his LS have had.
this shield is incredibly overrated. tiamat still hits him for around 300-400 normal and crits over 500 with full kaiser and this shield on.
he does take 150 max in the air though.
(he has(had?) a speed belt, if that makes the 'gimp belt crew' feel any better)
I also saw him take quite a few 280-308 crits from Tia.
Shield isn't gonna block everything.
He was taking 175 in the air early on w/ VC on and who knows what else.
Was he engaged? JP tanks seem to have this wierd obsession with tanking wyrms while unengaged and their backs turned to it. So who knows.Originally Posted by mdn
I also thought it was confirmed that the block rate is something like 70%+ with a high damage reduction. It's possible that the number is dependent on the level of the mob, or that tiamat's damage simply isnt subject to shield block rates. On everything else though, its a pretty amazing shield, so I dunno if I'd call it overrated.
On faf he was taking 30-40 every swing but tiamat he blocked a lot less on and got hit pretty hard(says people that were watching). He was letting the ninja tank on the ground most of the time from what i heard tho. It's definatly a good shield but not the end all relic that people make it out to be. Still better then any of the weapons i guess =\
He prob. wasnt engaged so the shield proc rate wasnt going off, at all...
You do not need to be engaged for shield to proc, only for parry to proc.He prob. wasnt engaged so the shield proc rate wasnt going off, at all...
Yeah but damage goes up, as does crit rate, when your back is turned.
