Maybe not, but it's against ToS and isn't it illegal in some respect also? I know Ebay technically doesn't allow the sale of any online items or gil, that is why most people have to sell something along with it, and add the actual purchase as a "bonus" of some sort.

That's a bad comparison. To correctly compare the two you'd have to act as if you worked at a job, and there were people there who were constantly disrupting you trying to do your job, undercutting your business, taking your customers, and in general making your job a living hell, and you couldn't do anything about it. On top of that, these people were at your job illegally, and yet you had no way to prove it to the authorities. So basically you just have to suck it up. Then call them a dirty piece of trash...and there's a correct metaphor. Sound a little more warranted?

Yeah, it's illegal, as the items and money are considered the intellectual property of the company that owns the particular MMO. It also breaks the user agreement of Ebay if that is used during the transaction.

I think it's very important to distinguish between a legal issue and an ethical one, though, especially in a time where the majority of people seem to be led to believe that they are the same.
