The whole thing Arthanian proves is that if you suck the right dicks and make all of the right people like you then you can do anything (even steal an Osode) and everyone will love you and defend your cheating and lying until the day you die.

I honestly don't believe he 'wanted' to get caught... he just did. Like most people said, if he really wanted to get caught and have his account banned he could've staged a GM call with a friend and gotten caught long before making 780M gil. It's just in his nature to cover up his shit by saying he 'wanted to for the benefit of his family.'

I honestly don't think he'll stay gone long. He'll start over and cheat his way to the top. His addiction is insane to have quit and come back about 4 times in the past even with his marriage on the verge of divorce. I used to like Arth because he makes himself very likable and you can't really begin to hate him for his actions unless A) You don't know him and can judge him without having him charm you or B) You personally got fucked by him.

He was a nice guy and I don't wish him ill will but I hope he doesn't come back to FFXI or any other MMO as I'm sure doing so would be the ultimate demise of his marriage.

An average of 10 billion per server was banned to create the current (1.5 month and ongoing) depression, and he alone just added almost 10% to that number for his server.
