Yeah, Aurik, what people here don't know about crazypluto is that he bought the account his WAR, NIN, and MNK are on. His character that got banned was a NIN and RNG, so yeah, he hasn't tried anything on MNK end-game yet.

Wasn't really the point of my post to say anything "drama-ish", but really... You BUY an account, have it for 2 months, and that automatically gives you the insight to come here and say you know everything about X job or Y item or whatever when you don't even have the items or whatever you're talking about.
But definately, there should be some "uber gorget" that makes you need all the requirements of all the other gorgets, turn it all in, and just get 1 that works for everything.

I do have dune boots and parsed with many mnks but just aint worth it vs haste for dot* + I am the one that lvled mnk and merit much as possible just becuase your to chicken shit to come PT with a real mnk you come here to talk shit =P

Quick side note.. My banned char had 4 lv75 jobs and mnk was my 5th future job so why hate? I have had my fair share of exp. of this game. unlike some ppl around here that just sit in Port Jeuno on 1 lv75 too weak mnk.. Much love to ya Budd!
it's dot, not tod, and enhanced kick damage is way, way, way, way, way better than a shitty 3% haste.

The math is very simple. 3% means that after 35ish attack rounds you'll finally get your extra round. Dune Boots will allow you to hit 1.5x's harder. every time you kick (10-15%). So in 35ish attack rounds...you don't need a doctorate to figure this out.Originally Posted by crazypluto

About gorgets:
I have flame and thunder gorgets and I can't really tell the difference with or without it, not so obvious of an effect (I might have to end up chucking them for space at some point tooand re-quest them later).
Like other people have said I do think that it's probably more noticeable with really hard mobs, and I can believe iwhile the accuracy might help all 8 hits of asuran the damage improvement probably just affects only the first hit. I tried parsing a bit to see the effect, hard to tell, couldn't come up with anything even about averages, and certainly not about max dmg on asuran, which still stays on 1350 or so.
About haste etc vs dune boots, extra 2x+ dmg on kicks with dune boots is very noticeable, from day 1 i tried them it was absolutely obvious.
For damage 3% haste is not really much, you already have 13% haste from the spell and 17% just from belt and legs. However one thing about dune boots is that they are fUgly, and in most cases you might not care only about raw damage but also about safety, guarding, or when not in xp pts, /nin tanking. For those reasons I often wear more melee gaiters (guard hp and dex), or might go with haste+ (for utsu timer, but even then it could just be a swap for recast).
I have 5 merits in kicks (and 5 in counters) and kicks are really noticeable even without anything like melee hose when I do apollyon SE with vampire claws (claws do 230 on criticals, kicks are still considered blunt so they do 0 on criticals too... and I notice those 0s a lot more).
