Isn't necrobumping a bannable offense around here now?
Why yes I think it is.
well it's only 1 month, not even. not such a bad bump.
Better then the 1year old wiffleball dynamis post bumps.
The guy has ONE POST. You think he'll be back anyway?Originally Posted by Sekkite
yup, he had one post, and look what he did with it, do we want him back? lol
fraps it :D
wtf is necrobumping ._.?
Necrobumping (v.) - To post in a topic long after common sense dictates everything to be said in that topic has been said.
In layman's terms, if a thread had it's last post over a month ago, and someone posts in it to bring it up to the top, that's just pointless because 90% of the people here said what they wanna say.
ahhh![]()
ty for telling me about that, didnt know that was a bannable offense around here...
As stated in those new rules, it isn't necrobumping if the (bumping) post made does have relevance to topic at hand. Thats of course different than when those old dynamis topics were purposely necrobumped with replies that had nothing to do with topic.
And signified by that persons 1 post, he obviously wasnt a poster (maybe just a reader, or really is new) when this topic was on 1st page, so that means he can't add relevant stuff from his experience to the topic because he's "new?" Everyone at 1 time was a new poster, why the hostility.
just saw this topic due to the buming of it and there was one on fairy i noticed while harvesting that was killing the one yagudo that spawns on the way to the BC i'm guessing he was proably just testing it but in a 13 hour day of harvesting he did the same thing's over and over again just like the other bot's described in here i reported him but nothing was done x.x
Tbh, GMs don't do anything. If they did, you'd start seeing GMs appearing at NM pops to watch for bot-claimers (especially given that virtually every land HNM pop for the last several weeks has been bot claimed on Fairy, and GM calls net you a "We are looking into it, please do not report this again." message).
Honestly, SE just does not care enough to ban gilsellers.
Why do you care so much if he farms spiders? At least he isn't camping a NM and making it unfair for regular players to claim them. Gil selling isn't going to end, and imo this is the lowest form of evil they can do, yet you are all huffy about it.
Well the guy that's doing it is still there, he is ALWAYS either completely offline or there, completely autonomous for hours and hours and when he runs out of drain bolts is when the program starts acting funny, targeting nearby spiders and drawing weapons out, but never actually moving an inch to attack them. He also moves less than half a step up, then down, then left at a fixed time interval, or each time after recasting utsusemi, so whatever program is using is something that lets him move the char, check for monsters, count shadows, but apparently not smart enough to know when he runs out of drain bolts.
The reason why it's not a good thing imo is that this person is not actually ever playing the game, it's not a player, it's a program, designed only to leech resources. In a game with limited shared resources, if you have more and more of these (e.g., chocobo digging bots, mining, and now farming too), I think it takes away from the whole game.
People might be more inclined to cheat and not play by the rules if others are allowed to break them by cheating or botting for RMT. And even if they don't it still leaves you with a bad feeling to know you're the only one stupid enough to follow the rules.
It's true that this bot answers to GM tells automatically (or probably rings an alarm in the RMT sweatshop), but if a GM actually cared to it would be really easy to check that it's a bot, for example appearing in front of the bot in full GM gear and asking in say instead of tells (I am sure bots are not very good yet at image processing)...
(a) why do some of the people here get so uptight about replying to an old thread? it's the fucking internet, get over it.
(b) easier solution than aquarius: claim something w/ SMN sub, pull it into his range, call for help, desummon pet. it will be all over him. repeat several times in 60 seconds. game over
Could just do a mrargus-like scan for valid GM targets in the area to ring that alarm.Originally Posted by genome
I doubt it's that sophisticated, especially since it doesn't have to, not unless GMs were to start doing something more than just send a tell and then apologizing and considering the case closed.Originally Posted by aurik
