I agree with the multiple people on here that say the wall trick is cheap.--
From scanning random pages through, I see some people saying they deserve a lot of praise.
Why they did beat the monster itself--they really didn't beat it in a way that would force them into hard spots.
Obviously the 2hrs still pose an issue during the fight--but as long as the mob remains helpless, they'll get it sooner or later.
On the flip side, unless a game administrator gives you a command to stop something, then you are under no obligation to stop the straetgy.
It also depends on the situation--
While we were talking about the fact you didn't get any drops on our ls one of our members brought up a past experience where a GM asked him to tank Fafnir as RNG/WAR, after they had put it to sleep since the tank died.
Basically all I'm saying is--

I think a lot of you should be pissed at S-E for having such a poorly tested and designed encounter, instead of being pissed at the LS who killed this 'bugged' mob.

Apathy didn't have a huge plan to 'sploit' AV ahead of time, in fact JoL wasn't even scheduled for today. But we killed JoL, and then AV popped and started owning everyone.

What would you do in that situation?

Die over and over hoping that S-E had suddenly changed the design of the encounter to be less of a player-griefing, time-wasting clusterfuck, Or, try to use a strategy that was proven to have some success?

Well Apathy chose the latter.

I wish that AV hadn't popped, and that Apathy didn't kill it, as then Apathy wouldn't have to deal with more idiotic drama, now from people who aren't even on Remora. Well... killing JoL and AV was FUN at least. Too bad a lot of you seem to have no fucking clue how to find that in this game.

I can not wait till someone from Apathy makes it public the little trick they used to disable AV's 2 hours, just to rub it in all you peoples faces who are completely ignorant to their strat and are trying to diminish their accomplishment because you think you know everything. I doubt the wall was the big deciding factor people are making it out to be because of this.

I like how everyone still just assumes it's a broken mob. Until the most recent patch it only popped about once a month (sup Pandy server) and after the first couple, people were just letting it despawn. LB is the only LS I've seen ever actually try to find a way to fight it. Even though they ended up discovering and implementing the wall exploit, they did have him up for a very long time and play with him quite a bit.

It's been said a million times before, but remember when DL was "broken"? Or how about Kirin, or Steam Cleaner, or Brigandish Blade? Guess what, those weren't broken, it just took people time to figure them out. Enough people really haven't put forth the effort to figure out how to fight AV. That's really all there is to it being "broken."

I bet the biggest reason why no one has answered how to stop AV's SP/magic/etc. is because it hasn't been pinpointed. Apathy rushed it to the wall, and there's a good chance, judging from the posts of people in and out of Apathy, that the way it was perpetually going in and out of being claimed could've played a large role in it not using abilities. If it's not, then please fill everyone in. It's not like they'll be getting some "phat lewt" from it
