JoL's regen being too high could very well just be SE's lack of testing, not that they didnt want it to be killed. I really think that if they wanted you to deplete AV's HP to 0, he would have been nerfed in the same patch as JoL.

AV doesnt drop 7 items. it drops same thing as JOL which is r/ex thing u trade in at Tav to get your pick of his drop items (assuming the datamined info at MT is correct)


edit nvm i checked again and i think each item is obtained with a different sin? so i guess i can drop 7 items and possibly extra items not yet associated to it?

Imo, each aspect of AV is linked to a virtue, it's link can be found in the other jailers.... for instance, Fortitude uses Invincible... people say AV's invincible is always followed by an immeadiate Benediction... so it's possible using Fortitude prevents Invincible and Benediction.

Temperance - Meikyo Shisui.

Justice - pops 6 xzomit's that Mijin Gakure.... this could be linked to AV's Mijin Gakure, or his (3)6 wyverns.

Faith - Manafont, I believe Manafont is linked to Chainspell and then meteor (not 100% on this but it's wait i've taken).

Hope - Mighty Strikes... I believe this is also linked to Hundred Fists.

Love - I'm not sure in his 2hr, but I think he uses a non-effective Astral Flow. Love also has the high regen, which AV shares on a more exponential scale.


Anyways i'm not suggesting anything, but I hope this gives insight as to what people should be looking for in terms of strategy. Maybe by "weakening" him to each virtue, you eliminate the traits and job abilities for that virtue... and also unlock the drops.

Now let's find out how to use those weapons.

And to everyone comparing him to Kirin... You simply can't compare the two. Kirin himself is a pushover, you can straight tank him if you want to. Kiting may be a bit safer, but either way, he doesn't unleash anywhere near the same amount of pain that AV is capable of.

Call it a glitch or exploit if you like, but after all the hours spent in this game trying to figure out a tactic that works, they finally found one. It works, and there's really nothing that would indicate that this tactic isn't the proper one to use, aside from how easily he went down after figuring it out. But that's how most mobs in this game are. If you know the tactics, and have enough people, any mob is easy >_>

i'm sure hiding behind a wall and having 18 blms spendabout an hour of constant nuking is exactly the strategy that SE planned for this mob.

people can easily kill Feeler Antlion too, but then you don't end up with Rostrum Pumps.

LimitBreak LS holds AV for over 30 hours and takes AV to 52%, the thread goes over 85 pages and people praise them.

Apathy kills AV, the thread lasts about eight pages before people flame them.

Simply Amazing.

A lot of us are just underwhelmed with how it happened. Limitbreak actually found out how to get the damn thing below 98% which was previous unable to be done beforehand. Apathy essentially followed the same pattern, and I think a lot of us are just disapointed(although I would hardly say its unexpected) that Absolute Virtue dropped nothing. The dev team still doesn't realize we place value on our time and would like to be rewarded for something that took months to farm the pop items for. And no, the title alone is not enough of a reward.

Nah Sekkite I understand that don't get me wrong. I am more pissed at people with less than 200 posts, or just some bitter players who will probably never even come close to killing JoL, bashing people who accomplished something so impresive.

Yeah the title and bragging rights alone are the reward, but also some drops would have been nice. Again, we will all look back and laugh in a couple of months when JoL and AV are farm status. If people ever can get the Virtues to dop.

Noone's bashing them for killing JoL. The main thing is people who actually have done these things in the game, killed Vrtra, Tiamat, JoL, know that what Apathy did wasn't hard. It wasn't a big deal, and nuking a mob behind a wall fails to compare to killing any of the other top HNMs in the game...hence why NOONE IS IMPRESSED. Short of them finding out how to make him stop 2houring (which will remain a secret) they simply resorted to a strat that people have already been warned about on Garuda, and been told that if they continue they would be put in jail.

IMO AV is unkillable, even though it has the text, it's possible they are still waiting to implement drops. (They added certain drops to Tiamat eventually.) Perhaps with the new expansion allowing Bards to get a 3rd set of songs on, allowing us to resist his spells. (So far his melee and spells are the only thing you need to deal with as long as you can negate his 2hours.) I think if you could stop his spells, you'd be able to at least withstand his melee with multiple tanks etc.

I think though that as long as people are dying CONSTANTLY back to back to back, AV is not meant to be killed, or there is a new way to stop his spells/abilities. Look at mobs like Vrtra, Tiamat, and Jorm. All of these can be easily killed with a good alliance without taking a single death. I think at the point where AV will be killable, the same should be also true.

It of course may mean that once AV is at the wall, the hard part is over and stuff, but yeah they were the first to do it and if everyone now copies them, definately alot of hypocrites foating around

You know, I've killed alot of NMs in my time without getting a single drop, either. Does that mean I glitched the kill, or that I just had some shitty luck?

yeah they could have bad luck... pretty much every nm is capable of dropping nothing.

but considering how complex this NM is i'd bet alot that they got no drops for a reason. i could be completely wrong, but my instinct says something else.
