yeah they could have bad luck... pretty much every nm is capable of dropping nothing.

but considering how complex this NM is i'd bet alot that they got no drops for a reason. i could be completely wrong, but my instinct says something else.

He wasn't meant to be killed. SE wouldn't fucking make a monster that was only killable by manaburning hardcore while behind a piece of topography that rendered AV almost totally useless, especially since Northern Al'taieu was added after AV was.

Either SE didn't give him drops because he wasn't meant to be killed, or you guys succeeded in cheating the system and killed the unkillable, but just got bad luck.

Yeah, it's pretty ironic, but hey, what are you gonna do. I'm just amazed noone there has mentioned it and confirmed it for sure, because it seems like it would have been pretty easy to determine. Oh well, the secret will get out soon enough.

The main thing is people who actually have done these things in the game, killed Vrtra, Tiamat, JoL, know that what Apathy did wasn't hard. It wasn't a big deal, and nuking a mob behind a wall fails to compare to killing any of the other top HNMs in the game...hence why NOONE IS IMPRESSED. Short of them finding out how to make him stop 2houring (which will remain a secret) they simply resorted to a strat that people have already been warned about on Garuda, and been told that if they continue they would be put in jail.

While I can see how people could feel this way I can also see how nearly everyone in teh game uses the same strats on 99% of the mobs in the game. Look @ dynamis, most HNM, even quests most people simply are using hearsay and info from the internet to copy what others have done. There are very few truly innovative moments in the game.

So congratulations on the win, its impressvie no matter what stratyou used or who pioneered that strat.

I think LB deffinately had an innovative moment, though I'm not sure that this is an "honorable" tactic or not(hell im not even sure that there is an honorable tactic or that SE didnt intend it to be just this way). Apathy did take LB's strat and make it functional for the win which is a feat in an of itself, though I think that figuring out the 2hr thing is more important than copying LB, since that is what truely allowed them the win.

On a side note I think that if indeed the method of stopping the 2hrs is being kept a secret, that is a big slap in the face to all the people who have posted especially on these forums working together across ls'es and server to try and figure this mob out. The only way that apathy got to the point that they could kill AV was by utilizing others hard work and shared information. To figure out yet another key piece of this information and then not share it w/ the people who have contributed ideas, time, pop item, exp etc to give you the info you needed seems disrespectful.

They should keep it a secret about how to stop 2hrs. Sea is already the biggest joke in the game. If the secret is fairly simple, now the hardest mob in the game becomes a joke too.

Someone said in the LB thread that nerfing a mob so that it can be beaten cheapens the accomplishment, but how much does constantly nuking a mob without worrying about how much hate you have (which is unlike any other single mob in the game) cheapen it if anyone with enough people can beat it in an hour?

I love BG Forums.

LimitBreak LS holds AV for over 30 hours and takes AV to 52%, the thread goes over 85 pages and people praise them.

Apathy kills AV, the thread lasts about eight pages before people flame them.

A lot of us are just underwhelmed with how it happened. Limitbreak actually found out how to get the damn thing below 98% which was previous unable to be done beforehand. Apathy essentially followed the same pattern, and I think a lot of us are just disapointed(although I would hardly say its unexpected) that Absolute Virtue dropped nothing. The dev team still doesn't realize we place value on our time and would like to be rewarded for something that took months to farm the pop items for. And no, the title alone is not enough of a reward.

Nah Sekkite I understand that don't get me wrong. I am more pissed at people with less than 200 posts, or just some bitter players who will probably never even come close to killing JoL, bashing people who accomplished something so impresive.

Yeah the title and bragging rights alone are the reward, but also some drops would have been nice. Again, we will all look back and laugh in a couple of months when JoL and AV are farm status. If people ever can get the Virtues to dop.

IMO AV is unkillable, even though it has the text, it's possible they are still waiting to implement drops. (They added certain drops to Tiamat eventually.) Perhaps with the new expansion allowing Bards to get a 3rd set of songs on, allowing us to resist his spells. (So far his melee and spells are the only thing you need to deal with as long as you can negate his 2hours.) I think if you could stop his spells, you'd be able to at least withstand his melee with multiple tanks etc.

I think though that as long as people are dying CONSTANTLY back to back to back, AV is not meant to be killed, or there is a new way to stop his spells/abilities. Look at mobs like Vrtra, Tiamat, and Jorm. All of these can be easily killed with a good alliance without taking a single death. I think at the point where AV will be killable, the same should be also true.

I'll reiterate what he said. It takes more effort to kill Vrtra, Jorm, Tiamat, and hell even Kirin than the amount of effort taken to get something stuck behind a wall and zerg it to death. In my book, Lockecole wins the trophy.

Look at it like this, Lennox Lewis(around 6ft8in tall about 265lbs) fought micheal tupa(about 5ft9in tall and 230ish pounds) all lennox did was jab and throw straights keeping the smaller tupa at bay... was the fight exciting? no(not to me) lennox won cause he "Exploited" his opponets weakness, he knew that just jabbing at tupa to keep him at bay would win the fight....guess what he won and people complained cause tupa could even get to lennox and called lennox skill-less(lol sounds like you haters in this forum)
Can anyone tell me who invented the stiff arm in football? no you probbaly can't, or even can anyone tell me who invited the spin move? thats a no once again. Many if not all Running back in all tiers of football use these moves to get away or avoid defenders....but do they get called"thiefs" cause the "ADOPTED" those moves or "cheaters" cause they use those moves ?? no they don't.... why is that?? oh its cuase they "ADOPTED" the moves to make themselves better at what they do.....just because you did something first does not mean others cannot do it... so instead of saying Apathy "cheated" when killing AV against a wall and "stole" the strat from LB you are wrong. NO other mob in the game can be accurately paralleled with how AV is currently killed. None.
