Marijuana Detection Time Shorter Than Previously Assumed

Yeah, there's always been an enormous amount of scare tactics against pot for a long time now (but not tobacco or alcohol), even though it's relatively harmless (except when, like any drug, it's abused). It's amazing how dangerous it's been made out to be (along with Extacy, which is a relatively safe drug as far as drugs go). I would argue that cannabis and tobacco are both less harmful then alcohol, which is not only widely accepted, but encouraged to abuse in our culture. It's one of the many double standards that you'll see in any society, though. This is due in part to the fact that the US government pretends to fight a war on drugs while it's officials fill their wallets with drug money. It's not like this is even conspiracy theory, it's documented fact, but it seems the magority of the American populous is either too powerless or apathetic to do anything about it.

And seriously, if the gov't legalized drugs (even just marijuana) do you know how much money they could make from taxing it? They could also help regulate it to make it safer then just "street corner shwag" that you have no idea came from.

They make more money off of it in it's current state. Not the government itself, which spends increasingly more money each year fighting it, but the people at the top of the government that pocket the money do.
