I had my HQ c.sollerets posted consistently for like a month and never sold. only thing that sometimes yields money is luisant gears if you hit a hot streak, but even that is barely anything. I suppose in theory theres money in the hauby/berk market, but you need a helluva bankroll to start doing it intelligently, and well...lucky as fuck. if i had to do it again i would have picked a different craft for sure, this is probably why i haven't logged on in well over a month, and probably about to finally quit for good lol.

You need to be smart about hauby market. My consensus is that if Im losing 150k or more per synth then I wont synth. I usually synth when the prices are about the same. The most important thing is: Dont synth less than 7. Preferably, 12 or more synths. If you cant come up with that kind of money, just keep synthing until you get lucky whenever you have money, and spend that money in more synths.

thats how ive been approaching it. work up the bankroll until I could do 7+ synths with funds left to spare. no idea what D.ingots are going for anymore on my server (I litterally haven't logged on in like a month) but assuming I was able to sell my sollerets -1 for the 1.5m i was looking for, i would have been fairly close. but regardless its sad that the craft has been reduced to essentially 1 synth

Sorry I'm so late to post here on this(been on vacation for the last week), but I've been 103 smithing for the last 2 years. I've seen some rough times in the markets, but I really dont think things are all that bad. I dont have problems making money, and I am not particuarly lucky. Every once in awhile I hit streaks, but I have bad streaks to go with them. One of my biggest rules though: I stay away from Haub+1/berks unless I am going all the way for adaburk +1. (0/36). I learned early that Haubs are evil synths that always steal my d.ingot on breaks (I break 2/12 consistantly). I just never found profit in it.

But if you look around, and stay ahead of the game there is no reason why you cant make good, consistant income smithing. Paying 800k for an ingot, and selling an NQ for 600k isnt my deffinition of smart.
12 ingots = 9.6M
Misc mats = 1.2M (dsteel is 100k a stack)
=10.8M
1HQ = 6M
10NQ = 6M (600kea)
1 loss (I always seem to break 2/12 though)
=12M

Thats squeaking a profit, in high risk synth. if you go 0/12 you lose 3.6M. There are much much better avenues to make $$$.


EDIT: BTW, NQ Cursed Hauberks sell for 400k 1-2x per month. I lose my ass on those, but if I can crack a -1, I can sell it for 75M so that math makes a little more sense.

I think it would be hard to get 75M for a Adaberk -1. Anything like that is hard to sell in this economy.

Of course, everyone said I'd never get more than 40-50M for my Kyudogi +1. =P

I would say 3-4M max for the mitts. Last few pairs I saw were being sold several months ago for half of what I got for my blessed trousers+1. Doesn't seem to be much of a demand for them, at least on my server.

NQ is about 50-60k loss right now, so I stuck them at 5M for now. I'm hoping to get at least 4M though.

Should be able to get 4M if you're patient. The market for them on Bismarck is pretty lame. 50-100k per synth loss, and nobody really wants the HQ, so all in all, it kinda sucks. But as is always the case, if there havent been any around on your server for a while and you can find a motivated buyer, you can basically get whatever you want within reason. best of luck.
