What is so great about tier1 synths?

I couldn't move aristo's for anything, I even had an awesome rate on them. I ended up selling my last for 20m when NQ's were 12m, no one wanted it. I was probably 9/50 on HQ, never lost a cloth either.

so SORRY that I was a little excited about upgrading my NQ nobles for a HQ. I guess its just as great as HQ'ing a piece of Zenith gear, or dance shoes, or Rasetsu gear. For someone who prides himself in all his "HQ" gear, i'm surprised you don't think its cool Wodapdopoop.

I could understand the jealousy though, not having any Rilu brand gear yourself- it IS the hottest stuff on Unicorn these days.

Actually, Rilu, most Zenith synths are tier0 (as are Dance Shoes for that matter.. and 2/5 of Rasetsu); what I think Wop is saying is this thread is more about the rarity/randomness/luck of the synth itself. I don't think anyone will debate the fact there are -amazing- HQs out there of Tier1 synths, Aristocrat's being one, but in the 100+6 crafters' eyes, anything that caps 95 or below really just doesn't have the same impact for the sake of the thread, even if a tier0 is perhaps of less use to a player.

Only 1 zenith synth is t1 (crown) as the boots have too high a clothcraft requirement to be t2'd.

Theres a difference between a Tier 1 that costs 100k-2/3m to make and HQ and something that costs 10m+ to risk making and HQ.

Ppl dogging on the Tier Is need to stfu, sorry. You cant deny the excitment of synthing something that expensive. Hell even NQs can be a relif. (You didnt bomb someone's life savings, a LS's reward, etc) Someone added that us 100+6ers dont see these HQs as significant but this is coming from one. Congrats, I bet u wet urself when u saw that animation. Synthing something like that is a feat in itself, HQing it, even at a 10% HQ rate, is kick ass.

Posting in this environment where people pay for Spharai with crafting profits, it's safe to assume a shining cloth isn't someone's life savings. A shining cloth costs you 5m on my server, an amount that D.ingots used to run. Posting Haubergeon+1s would probably get the same kinda reaction, albeit a pimp item, just like Aristocrat's Coat is, but it didn't require such dumb luck from the "random" number generator in FFXI we all love so much that some other synths would.

Coming from another 100+6 crafter, Aristocrat's certainly isn't something to flame, but it's also not the most head-turning HQ. It's worth a congratulations, but it's not a mahatma cape.

Tier1 and good, or Tier0 and useless.. it seems people can't win amidst the elitism.

The OP's synth was a t1 cursed mufflers, the series of posts after that were talking about Hi-Q Haubergeons and Hauberks. There are t1 screenshots all over the other 50+ pages. Suddenly they aren't 'worthy?'

Post all the tier1 you want. Quit being bitches being someone HQ'd another aristo or whatever. It was their first so they have a right to be greatly excited about it. If this thread was about T0 only, it would have ended around page 3.

Guess I can safely say I went 1/1 cursed celata -1, 1/3 cursed solleretes -1, 1/2 cursed mufflers -1, 1/2 haubergeon +1(for friend), and 4/6 adaman sheet +1(lol), all over the course of the previous weekend.

i dont think u can wow anyone anymore, sorry. Thats why it annoys me when i see someone who is geniuenly excited about a synth get hammered by someone on this thread. Hell even i had a positive comment on one of my sniper's+1

That's really good, Vic. I'm curious as to why you made sollerets since the addition of Amir; I have a hard enough time finding a market for the other pieces. I've made several breeches -1, mufflers -1, celatas -1, but nowhere near as impressive as your record.

As for the whole T1/T0 thing, I have nothing against T1s, especially T1s that are really good items; going back to the OP, I was talking to Nore the first few pages about T1 earthen -1... then just going on about why it didn't seem impressive enough to Wop. We don't all have blessed trousers+1 or even the option for the equivalent.

Um.. that's a separate sentence. The point I'm making is the other crafts have synths that will naturally take place a lot more often as their options for amazing T0s. None of the listed Leather/Cloth synths require a king abjuration, further making what little options Smithing has unrealistic.
