we usually bring like 4 summoners a tank pt, some blm and people to skillchain, usually a quick fight.

You'd think they stop at all the hardest NMs and all the other hardest BCs being manaburnable. It's pretty gay that one of the hardest BC's can be manaburned lol.
nin tanks and smn's ftw..
Summoners suck in timed fights. Sorry.
Not as reliable as a BLM being able to nuke whenever the fuck they want.
Yes, you can ES/Sleep tiamat 30+ times and it never lasts under 90 seconds.Originally Posted by Ragnard

My LS does it with SMNs :/ You won't win any speed awards with Bloodpacts as your main form of damage, but the fight is alot safer that way. In the past before we figured out the BC we had alot of gay luck with Ouryu Roaring a tank and it triggering a spike flail on a BLM, so we kind of got into the habit of having the fight be safer for everyone :X
You can manaburn ouryu well.
Our setup :
PLD WAR/WHM(sucked, cures nice, but he ate so much dmg), BRD, RDM, WHM WHM
BLM BLM BLM BLM RDM/BST(me, charm worms), BRD
BLM BLM BLM SMN RDM BRD
When he's on the floor, someone ES+Sleep2
When he flies, everyone spam IV, Aero/bliz 4.
When He lands, ES+Sleep2... repeat. He will die fast. The only problem is the elementals, which didnt have too much sleep resist at all. BLM aspir'd till 0, when they had 0 MP, we time nuked the ele instead of ouryu for that round.
SC'ers were a waste of space with this strat, but keep in mind there is more than one way of doing anything in FFXI, Manaburn is only ONE strat, it's not even that fast anyway.
As for sleep resist, I didnt notice any on uncapped ouryu.
Didn't notice anything different on Ouryu.
But a LS who did KS99 Wyrm said they managed to sleep the wyrm during the fight.
When my group did it after patch, ES Sleep 2 doesn't land at all. Needless to say, we panicked and wiped.![]()
the deal with what they changed is you can no longer just have a rdm/drk cast an unsealed sleep on wyrms like you used to. you have to use seal just like on nidhogg to sleep them now.
that's all they changed
ice SCs work better on Ouryu than wind in my experience -.-
My LS did Ouryu with the sleep nuke tactic after the update. Worked fine with an elemental seal order/rotation. He never slept for less than the 1m 30s Sleep II gives.
We've killed it the normal way w/ mistmelts + SCs too of course so don't be hatin' yo.
Our time with sleep nuke was ~50 mins, dunno if our BLMs were gimped or something but I expected a quicker time.
lol does ANY wyrm have ANY sort of sleep resistance?
CoP wyrms = nope
ZM (Fafnir / Nidhogg) = nope
Ouryu uncapped = nope
Maybe they were referring to the Bahamut BC wyrms? Or are those unsleepable? Which would make sense that SE would want to build the sleep resistance of something that's immune to sleep.
Fafnir and Nidhogg definitely have sleep resistance, however whether or not how fast they build resistance was adjusted I don't know.
No they don't. I've watched a LS sleep nidhogg 15 times and most happened within 10-15min. Not sure about you but I don't call something that can be easily slept over 5-10 times to be something that has "sleep resistance".
Did it wake up like 5 seconds later?Originally Posted by Angelsin

Honest to god, we used it on a fafnir one morning like 3 months ago (way before update) when we had something like 1 PLD, 1 RDM, 8 BLM's in the LS only and he started resisting ES/Sleep outright after like the 5th cast.Originally Posted by Not Kuno
Watched a Nidhogg not 2 weeks ago take 14 ES sleeps, every one to their full duration.
I don't know if fafnir can't be slept and nid can but that would seem unlikely too.

Actually to be honest, I've never seen someone try to chain-sleep nidhogg. I just assumed he behaved the same as fafnir. Fafnir 100% positive without a doubt starts to resist sleep after 3 or 4 times.
