Did you ever play PSO for DC or GC? ST is 10000 times worse than SE. Although supposedly things will be better since everything on the online portion of the game is stored server side instead of client side...Originally Posted by Raineh
However, things like the double save patch (fixed one form of duping, but could cause your character or your ENTIRE GC memory card to corrupt, no chance of getting it back), NOL-ing, people using cheat devices... If Barubary and Broomop still "play", I'm sure PSU will be messed up online before too long.
In any case, Aht Urghan is definitely looking really good... When they showed the CoP preview areas, only Promyvion and Riverne looked cool (to me), but everything they've shown in AU looks to have good potential. I just hope they have some decent places to XP in.

The story of the new additions is really... weak, and poorly written. As for the dog thing, I'm sure most people's butcheeks clenched at the thought of more NM bullshit. Camping NMs is the worst play experience any game has ever given me.
Bahamut, the new earrings, Limbus, Dynamis and the 18 player avatars, with the announcement of what looke to more BC style events with assault had me thinking they were on the right track at least for how to present encounters. If this dog thing is another king, someone at SE is going to pay, and so will a lot of people in the very large blast radius.

or more content, things to do, worthwhile NMs to kill that don't have drop rates of 1/1000, zones, playability, with a somewhat smaller story.
Hi, I'll choose #2. I mean, when you finish reading a story, you don't want to read it again any time soon, but things in a game? Yeah. thx.
Actually, despite some of the BS, I think CoP was a very good expansion. It actually did something that (to my knowledge) has never been done in an MMO: an engrossing, awesome story. That alone deserves props in my book. And don't forget Limbus, easily my favorite current endgame activity.Originally Posted by Genosync
Did you copy and paste your reply from another topic? I could swear you said exact same thing in another thread.
The way I read Flux's posts was he was saying that the write-ups for the updates on the SE site are really weak.
Nah, its just my opinion and it hasn't changed in the past hour and it fit as a counerarguement to geno's post. Plus I didn't say it was a success in the other postOriginally Posted by Hirronimus

Oh ok, thought I was losing my mind. This entire day is filled with dejavu. Fucking LSD flash backs.
SE doesn't need to sacrifice story for good end-game.
If you added abjurations to wyrms loot table(including Bahamut 2 round and Ouryu), totally replaced Relic+1 stats with something much, much better, have CoP Dynamis' drop more currency than other Dynamises, fix sea by improving drop rates and/or adding cash items, and allow better exp in capped zones... You turn CoP into a very good expansion. Capped zones are tedious, but wouldn't be much of a problem since they would be overshadowed by all the good end-game content.
Can anyone explain to me, what stops SE from doing fixing CoP so easily?

IMO, ToAU is going to be more like RoZ than CoP. In one of the Q&As or an interview or something, Square-Enix acknowleged that CoP is almost entirely story-driven, and didn't provide significant changes to the way that the game itself is played. Zilart, on the other hand, introduced new jobs, which changed the game to a signficant degree ... not to mention that Zilart areas are considerably more expanisve than CoP areas.
The new expansion seems to be geared towards providing significant gameplay changes throughout the game. Not only are we getting new jobs that will change things up, but we are also getting new features (eg. raising chocobos) and new battle systems (Assault and Besieged). Additionally the devs have mentioned that the new expansion won't be nearly as story-driven as CoP.
I read this and instantly thought that the Underworld would be the endgame of ToAU. First sky, then sea, now Hell?Originally Posted by SE
