Anyway, I don't see why would FFXI be Greek mythology, only because you saw a picture of Cerberus.

Few exemple:

Tiamat = Babylonian.
Fafnir = German.
Vritra = Hinduism (edited, wasn't sure about him -_-; ).
Kirin = Japanese.

If I put a stake on a plastic and ceramic plates, it doesn't change the fact it's still a steak. I admit, the main thing that attracted me to this game were graphix followed by the fact that I just finished FF 9 and 10, after my friends kept talking about FF7, btw which I haven't played even now.
