Bahamut fight #1 : Did it a while ago, it's either "Dusk and Dawn" or "Ruler of the Skies"

Is fight #2 same as 1's music? Never did it myself ;P

Ah, thanks Wafik. Sorry, should have been more specific. I meant fight #1, as I haven't done #2 yet either. I think it's "Ruler of the Skies."

POLUtils-0.8.2-Release is the latest release and is pretty much all the FFXItools into one.

Can run the audio manager to access all the music and sound effects from ffxi.

might need Microsoft Managed DirectX redistributable to run, if you dont have. all the info is on the link i posted. This is what I use atleast to get all the songs to .wav format.

I could make a torrent of all 3 OSTs, the Star Onions album (live/arranged versions of FFXI songs), all in VBR MP3, plus the two Promathia bonus tracks if there's any interest... as long as some people will seed it for a while so I don't end up doing it myself until like 2007.

    You could also try:

    http://www.zophar.net/psf/ - PS1/2 music rips

    http://www.neillcorlett.com/he/ - Winamp PS1/2 plugin

    Missing COP though

Can you just up to megaupload or something? That would be much preferable IMO, since we already have the other 2 upped to places.

I'd rather make a torrent. I really dislike those free file-hosting services, and would prefer to use a distribution method where I can reasonably expect the file to still be around in a week or two, or won't be deleted at a moment's notice.

A bigger problem right now is that I fucked up somehow and deleted the .dat file containing the CoP ending vocal (\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\sound\win\music\data\music376.bgw for anyone keeping score) and can't re-rip it. I still have the Empyral Paradox tune lying around, however.

Edit: wait a sec, found it in another folder

Here you go. This torrent has the OSTs for the original game, RotZ, and CoP, plus the "Music from the Other Side of Vana'diel" album by The Star Onions. I threw in the Empyral Paradox BCNM music and the CoP ending vocal, Distant Worlds, which I ripped from the game files. There's a 5-minute version of Distant Worlds on Izumi Masuda's solo album, but I'm not buying a whole CD of unrelated music for that single song, her voice is too irritating. (The rip of the in-game version is 3.5 minutes.)

I'll be devoting all of my bandwidth to seeding this for a while. I don't have a terribly fast upload (~25kB/s), but hopefully once a more people start seeding it, the torrent will stick around for a long time.

Edit: Wow, looks like my ISP raised my upload cap. 70kB/s goooooo

    Someone please help me

DM = "Fighters of the Crystal" - RoZ OST
Dynamis Xarca = "Awakening" - original OST
    Zi'tah = "The Sanctuary of Zi'tah" - RoZ OST.

Im just happy many other people like FFXI's music. I like listening to the music outside of the game, it feels kind of more meaningful (like, listen to DM's music, you can tell which emotion they're trying to get out of you, also awakening, Zi'tah, Castle Zvahl Keep , Grav'iton, are other good ones).

Another one im not very sure on it's name, I used pebbles POL viewer to take it out of the game out of the original OST, one called " [104] Yughott Grotto" - did this area have music before? It's very nice, sounds like Zi'tah, and im pretty confident it's mixed in the wrong area, sounds like a Zilart song.

Royze after dynamis i'll see in PM'ing you. I dont wanna upload while full clearing dyna-windy
    8)

Edit : Even though we've only seen it breifly, but ToaU's music seems on par with FF9 (shit game, good music), with a hint of SNES FF's coming through, I cant wait for that one's OST.
Wafik you must BURN for saying that about FF9 . j/k of course.
Graviton, Awakening, Pso'Xja, Distant Worlds and Ruler of the Skies are all immense, but for me the best has to be the shadowlord battle music. Especially the last 2 minutes of the track. Don't know what it's called but its music119.bgw in your ffxi folder.

Now that you mention it, the music does sound a lot better and it's a lot more meaningful when you're not actually playing the game. Most of the it's just an obligation, but I'm usually playing the game muted anyway.

From what you've said about the ToAU music, I'm really looking forward to it
