I was actually talking to Nuriko. I remember trying to play the game sneakily but I always got caught too. Good thing you can kill people and get your fines erased at the theives guild. ^^

Oh about that, I want to kill someone like a beggar in the Waterfront to just get noticed by the Dark Brotherhood, but won't that get me kicked out of the guild? How do I go about killing someone and still remaining in the guild to remove my bountys?

Btw, nice name, Greek Mythology ftw.

Quest system is actually really simplistic (almost too simplistic sometimes) in terms of it always telling you exactly what you need to do next if you read through your journal and look at your compass markers.

For that merchant quest, you need to wait for him to leave before you can enter it. Just use the Wait feature and find a time when he's not home. The door will be locked when he leaves, so unless you can find his key you'll have to pick the lock. If you do pick it, make sure there's no guards around or when you leave they'll be waiting for you. I saved right outside before opening the door, then after I went in I checked my map and clicked a fast-travel location, if you get the message "you cannot fast travel while guards are chasing you", then you were seen. Oh, you'll also have to pick the door to his basement, just to warn you.
Mm, thanks for the info, I'm going to go try the wait feature again outside his house, this quest better get me some kewl items lol, such a long boring quest just following some guy on sneak for like 2 hours ><.

I am wondering though, why does it only say like 3-7 defense for the Daedric pieces, I have gear that gives like 1-3 right now in Light armor, you'd think the numbers would get higher for such a rare set of gear. Daedric is rare right? I always assumed it to be like the Abjuration set of TES?

Can't you just follow the red arrow after selecting the quest in your quest menu? I've not done this particular quest, but I still havent seen one who didnt had marker on the map.

Is there a trick to lockpicking? Whenever I hit one it won't let me move to the next part in the lock until the thing lowers, so I don't really see how it is possible for anything with more than 1 spring in it <.<

lol, I felt the same way. Here is the trick to lockpicking, this is one thing I'm actually good at.

This is the simple answer to your question
    :

Each tumble requires you hitting the left click after getting it up in order that you might move onto the next tumble.
Ex. Hit left click after getting first tumble up, then it should lock into place, then move onto the next tumble.

This is the complex guide to becoming a pro lockpicker, I can pick Hard locks with relative ease now that I've reduced it to a simple game of Simon:

First turn your speakers up high enough to hear everything.
Next go to the tumble you want to push up.
Push it up and listen to the sound it makes.
Two little clicks and a longer animation of it staying up = Long.
One little click and a short animation of it staying up and dropping rather quickly = Short.
Now basically, just listen and watch and get the combo down for that particular tumble.
Ex. Tumble 1 might be Long, Short, Short, Long, Short, Short, Long
From that you can deduce the pattern and decide to wait after two shorts, then anticipating the long wait for the 2nd click and then hit your left mouse button.

Do this for each tumble, harder locks will have more complex "Simon-esque" setups.

You make lockpicking sound so difficult.

Tumblers fall at various speeds when you hit them up. Fast, Average, and Slow with a 'double click' at the top. Just keep hitting the tumblers up and get familiar with the speeds. To do it flawlessly, just keep hitting them up until you recognize a 'fast' fall. When it drops, immediately hit it up again and click. Done, repeat.

I'd rather it be on the X-Box... I don't want to play it on my PC

Just not 360 though because I don't have that.

I'm not sure, but I could have sworn that the only time you get kicked from a guild is if you steal or kill a member. I haven't really tried to get into trouble yet, besides stealing.

I don't play it as much as I'd like since my friend has the system and the game, not me. T_T Most of my experience is from Morrowind and it's expansions.

I love the game to death heh.

But, I think I might put it on hold for a little while. I might wait until modders (or even a BethSoft patch) to make high end armor sets more rare. And maybe alter the weird leveling scheme..

I just think it's pretty stupid when you hit a certain level bandits and everyone else is strutting around in Glass, Ebony, and Daedric stuff. Maybe I just miss the days of Morrowind when you actually had to go out looking for that class of armor, or in some cases take out the top people. I just wish it was a bit tougher.

And the leveling system seems kinda out of wack. It's really really harsh. Fuck up a little building your toon at low levels and it'll become incredibly tough at high levels. I'm certainly not against a challenge, but my first guy (rogue) gets absolutely raped. Even good sword/block fighting skills I can't keep up my HP or MP. End up every fight happy to be alive at the end. 2 or 3 vs. 1 is nearly imposible. Maybe I shoulda trained bow, Conjuration, or Resotration better or picked a class with more mana... But damn heh.

About stealing...why is it you get convicted of stealing for just *looking* at what something/someone might be carrying? Well, I suppose on a person it makes sense, but if I'm in someone's house who I might have good desposition with and I just *happen* to browse through their drawers or chests without ever taking anything, they really don't need to get all emo about it. I mean, even the guards are all like "you will give me all that stuff you stole" and I just want to tell them "but I didn't take anything!"

Anyway, I don't mind the leveling system too much, it's a nice change of pace from the usual "kill loads and loads of mobs to level" system. Though I do find it bothersome if I'm out adventuring somewhere and I level up and there's no where to rest...on the bright side if your "tnl" is capped and you get more skill ups before resting, they carry over so that after you do finally find a place to rest you could find yourself half way to next level already 8)

yeah, found a house for sale 10k gold to buy one
    I dont want a house that bad I suppose ; ;

I went to the nord city in the north, some bandits had killed a guard and I got a silver bow and tons of steel arrows by searching all the dead corpses, plus some really nice armor to truck back and forth and sell. Made about 800 gold and got a really pretty bow out of it.

I cannot recomend the detect life spell enough, it doesnt last long at a low level, but you regen the mana quick and you can see undead with it. It saved me several times when I was going to peek corners and would have ended up getting destroyed by 2 enemies right there.

I picked Oblivion up today and am really enjoying it. I haven't gotten too far into it, been taking huge detours, but what I have done has been great. I murdered some guy 'cause he got pissed when I laughed in his face when he asked me for help with fishing (blame FFXI devs) then when I fell to sleep some shadowey guy offered me a mission. I took it, killed some old guy and now I have to find somewhere obscure to sleep again! It's just so overwhelming how much there is to do.

Combat any better than in Morrowin? Or do you just tap the button furiously and swing a sword at a mob, hoping your cross hairs on it to hit it until it or you dies?
