I just got the game yesterday on PC and it will run perfectly for about 25 minutes or so, then it minimizes itself and eventually locks up. Anyone have this problem or know how to fix this?

wtf, these fanboy videos have some guy using some weird relics, any idea where to get them? I think it's called the Skull of corruption.
Fanboy 1
Here's more footage of the Skull of Corruption...
Fanboy 2
Does anyone know where I can get a list of all the relics that do kewl stuff like this Skull of Corruption?
I believe that's a Daedra item you get for pleasing one of the gods at their shrine.
You mean the monument things you occasionally stumble upon while riding around that the followers give you a quest to join that has a high level pre-requisite? I have a few in my log, some I can now do as I'm level 7, just wondering if they're worth it. One said I needed to look uglier, wtf lol. The only way I can think of doing that is to become a Vampire...Originally Posted by Naver
If I had to guess where that staff comes from its the Molag Bal shrine. Have to be lvl 17 to start it and it tells you to corrupt a guy into killing you with a special mace.
Where do you get these quests?Originally Posted by Russta
Just ride/walk around the game and you'll see... it's hard to describe... on the radar. They're called Daedric Shrines and the icon looks like a pointing statue (this is why buying games and owning the manual is sometimes good). When you find them, get off and talk to the handful of people there and one will tell you what you have to do to get accepted. While doing a quick check for a pic of the icon on google, it seems that all the best stuff in the game comes from these things.Originally Posted by Maguspk

Funniest Oblivion video yet.
wow.... after seeing that map. i got a shit ton more dungeon crawling to do
This sounds alot like the statue I found of the Sanguine God guy. Like it's a statue of some Guy with a drink in his hand or something and when I clicked on it I got a message saying to bring him some Cyrodillic Brandy or some shit. So I got it, and gave it to him and he spoke to me, gave me a spell called "Stark Reality" and asked me to ruin the Queens dinner party with it. I used it and lost all my gear and then went back to him for my reward... A Sanguine Staff and all my gear/money back. The staff summons a Fire Atronarch to do my will, it's pretty neat. Is this the kind of Shrine you're talking about? If so, can I do multiple quests from one Shrine by bringing more if the Gods offerings, or do I have to go to a different shrine to initiate another quest of this sort?Originally Posted by Russta
Mag, you can indeed do multiple quests from the same shrine. I was able to anyway.
You'll get tons of great gear from those quests. And you have to do one for the main story anyway. As for looking uglier, wear different clothing. Some are fancy and others are beggars clothing.Originally Posted by Russta

Dupe trick is working for me, here's what I did:Originally Posted by Maguspk
I went outside ( I happened to be at Ongars shack, right outside of the door in the street). I aimed up into the sky, just like the video I saw did, with Silver Arrows equipped (it worked with my withering arrows too, so it works with Magical arrows as well) and I drew back my bow. Then I hit tab, still holding down the mouse. The trick is here, you can't release your mouse over your inventory where your items are displayed or it will mess up, idk why just does. So after opening your inventory keep the mouse button held down and release it on or to the right of the scroll bar for your inventory (it also helps if you're in the bag section of your inventory so you don't have to scroll through the other tabs to get to your other arrows / item you want to drop). Then after releasing the mouse button is a safe spot you click the other arrows you want to equip twice, if the arrows split up between 1 and Total-1 then you did it wrong because they should just remain as one big stack of arrows. After you clicked then twice scroll to whatever item you want to dupe, and drop it. After dropping your desired item, exit from your inventory and the game should lag a bit (depending on how many arrows were in your 2nd equipped stack, obviously more arrows/items duped = more lag). Then you will see your items magically dupe before your eyes. Careful though, you can't sell so many at once due to shitting npcs not having alot of money. Starting to consider powerleveling my Mercantilism so I can donate to shops so I can sell more stuffs lol.
Heh, that was awesome.Originally Posted by Moosey
I was wondering a few things about Oblivion. I just picked it up yesterday for the PC. Ive only around 7GB of hard-disk space left, is that enough to install it on? And does anyone have any recommened builds for characters?
It's enough (requires 4.6GB) but it's always a good idea to defrag your hard drive after installing something of that magnitude and defrag is retarded and cries for 15% of your space to do it properly.Originally Posted by Woyn
For character builds I just use a Warrior type. I kinda regret not having gone the spell caster route but that's just me. I don't have any suggestions on builds but go check around the official board and maybe some others. I recall seeing a few topic titles that suggested a sneaky thief type build gets it really, really hard toward the end of the game so it would be a wise investment of time.

Some of my friends use that build, its /very/ powerful if you learn to use it correctly.![]()
