I can see it now.
'You have reclaimed the Astral Candescence! You have earned 3 Beseiged Points. Would you like to purchase a prize?'
1 point - (element) Crystal
2 points - Potion
3 points - (element) Cluster
5 points - Hi-potion
6 points - Chocobo Ticket - good for one free ride
10 points - X-potion
12 points - Chocobo Amulet - 2 charges

1200points - Damascus Ingot
1300 points - Cursed Hauberk

14000 points - E. Abjuration Body (lol)
In all honesty, I would not hate that system. At least you would know after 4667 runs you could get something worthwhile out of it. (OK, maybe if it were more like 3 months of Assault runs...)Originally Posted by Sekkite

my interest in FFXI has lost pretty badly, but the expansion is probably gonna spark it back up. all the new stuff like this makes me excited.![]()

A lot of the stuff that has been brought up recently has jaded my view of SE. While I am glad(and I admit surprised) that they took action that was actually effective against inflation, its the kind of screwups along the lines of a linkshell that spent months farming pop items for AV, fights it and kills it and gets nothing. It makes me worry that maybe they are keeping the mentality of our time being worthless for when they add end-game content for ToAU.Originally Posted by Arvin
In my perfect world, you could do Assault two times a week, it would be solo + NPC Fellow. You would both earn points, you could buy things like abjurations or other cool Rare/EX armors/weapons (Ridill) with enough points, your NPC would be able to upgrade stats like STR or MP, unlock different skills, upgrade weapon ranks in a merit-like system with his/her points. You could also lend points to your NPC or vice versa if you are close to something, but would not get more points until that debt was paid.Originally Posted by Sekkite
I know, 3-6 people for Assault, but I am talking about my perfect world...
Well, the way I see it is that there will be sub-par rewards for 3-6 person Assaults and decent rewards for retardedly difficult 18-person assaults. However, the decent rewards will be restricted to a single item. And you can rest assured that Ridill will never make it as an Assault award. Its a game-breaking item.Originally Posted by Septimus
When 'ranking' for Besieged was brought up, I thought maybe CP-esque rewards too, kinda like Sekkite's idea only more realistic than land king abjurations >.> lol
Like maybe you get 1 point for every mob that invades (could be a different number every time o.o; ), usually leaving you with 10 points or so every time Besieged happens. Then after getting 5000 or so points, you could get something along the lines of...
Al'Zahbi Hauberk
DEF:50, Accuracy+10 "Double Attack"+1
In Besieged/Assault: Movement speed+12%
Lvl 70
or something >.>;
Are you on SE's dev team? That sounds remarkably like what would be expected as a reward from Assault.Originally Posted by Mrcloudz

The Double Attack effect needs to be a 30/30 enchantment for replay value. The +1 seems right though but no one would get it so you just need to say Double Attack without the actual increase.
Not to derail this again but...
You obviously have never entered any of the 5 CoP dynamises. They are all fucking terrible. Seriously, shut the fuck up about things you read about on KIOriginally Posted by Maxxshutthefuckup
Weeee that was necessary. And yes I've done valkurm, and I can easily see it giving items you want one you learn how to properly do it. And I've never read about these things on KI, I rarely browse KI or Alla, I got all my info from you nice people <3Originally Posted by Viq
Oh and if you really want me to shut the fuck up don't address posts to me. You obviously don't want to hear any other opinion than the one you already have, so just add me to your ignore list.
Or just go back to the WoW forums.
lol no :3 but I've been thinking a lot about this expansion and am greatly looking forward to it @_@ and along the way I've come up with a few ideas of my own :O!Originally Posted by Sekkite
Also I didn't make my example armor enchantment armor because, frankly, I'm sick to shit of seeing so many damn enchantment items in CoP -.-; hopefully AU will have much, much less of them.
Well the armor you came up with has a conditional use that would only help during Besieged, and thus near worthless everywhere else since there is better armor available. Thus it being in line with what the dev team normally puts in. Anything that is put in is worse or is just too coniditional versus what is already available.Originally Posted by Mrcloudz
>.>; yeah I suppose. I wouldn't put it past SE to make something that'll be awesome in Besieged but useless anywhere else. But who's to say you can't spend more than 5000 points and get something even better @_@!?Originally Posted by Sekkite
e.g.
7,500 points = Halvung Mantle
[Back] DEF:5 Attack+10 Accuracy+10
10,000 points = Cerberus Ring
[Ring] DEF:3 Enhances "Triple Attack" effect
(I'm being vveeerrry optimistic on that last one lol <.<)
Lol @ Sept's fix on my earlier comment. I've had nothing but bad experiences with pick up parties for missions leading to lots of exp lost... I'm not *as* worried about dying in besieged since there's no penalty exp wise but it will suck if you end up losing because everyone seems to be running around like headless chickens during the entire ordeal. Would be "fun" to be suddenly thrown into a beseiged event too and find you're 10-15 lvls above everyone else and the mobs that spawn are spawned based on the highest lvl...
